I've just had a look at the FAC, and it doesn't look far off promotion now, with enough supports, and image and source reviews. It's still my intention to run it as WP:TFA on 7 July, the date of this year's world cup final if it is promoted in time. WikiCup 2019 July newsletter

The third round of the 2019 WikiCup has now come to an end. The 16 users who made it to the fourth round needed to score at least 68 points, which is substantially lower than last year's 227 points. Our top scorers in round 3 were:

• Cas Liber, our winner in 2016, with 500 points derived mainly from a featured article and two GAs on natural history topics
• Adam Cuerden, with 480 points, a tally built on 16 featured pictures, the result of meticulous restoration work
• SounderBruce, a finalist in the last two years, with 306 points from a variety of submissions, mostly related to sport or the State of Washington
• Usernameunique, with 305 points derived from a featured article and two GAs on archaeology and related topics

Contestants managed 4 (5) featured articles, 4 featured lists, 18 featured pictures, 29 good articles, 50 DYK entries, 9 ITN entries, and 39 good article reviews. As we enter the fourth round, remember that any content promoted after the end of round 3 but before the start of round 4 can be claimed in round 4. OK, but you said there's already a picture like that in that section, and I'm not seeing what you mean. I agree that this one (having been cropped already) is not high detail, but it does show the geography pretty well, I think, and makes sense for the infrastructure section. And thanks for the advice/reminder about alt text. This is not something I'm accustomed to doing, and I don't often see it, but I agree it's needed. However, given how badly it's failing to get all editors up to speed on accessibility, is there an automatic/software approach that would make more sense, such as having the constructed html default to using the caption text from the linked image as alt text, rather than the filename? Oranje/The Oranje

I saw you reverted my edit saying that English media stated it's "The Oranje" instead of "Oranje" but I'm Dutch myself and they are just called Oranje. The social media of the Dutch team is called "OnsOranje" which means "Our Orange". Dutch sources: [1] "Relive: painful defeat Oranje in World cup final" and [2] "The players of Oranje:(...)" Hey there, tagging in @Doug Weller: to this conversation as they're how I found out this article existed (though of course it does). I agree with the proposed deletion you put forward but wanted to suggest a friendly amendment to the rationale you provide. Although Van Spronsen is now deceased, WP:BLP applies to recently deceased people. As such, I would propose adding that the article is in contravention of WP:BLPCRIME to the existing prod rationale. East Link progress

If you haven't been across I-90 lately you might be surprised to know that they are running equipment down the tracks on mid-Mercer Island. It's possible that there's a continuous line now from Seattle to the East Channel Bridge, I'm not sure. ☆ Bri (talk) 17:30, 19 July 2019 (UTC)

@Bri: I actually biked along I-90 over the East Channel yesterday to grab some pictures. There's a gap in the elevated guideway on the turn from I-90 to Bellevue Way and the tracks haven't reached the approach yet. Three Rivers Mall Public Transit

On the Three Rivers Mall page, I would like to know why "local buses should not be mentioned in the info box" when there is a space in the info box for public transit. I added RiverCities Transit (Washington) because it is clearly stated on their Wikipedia page: "RiverCities Transit is a public transit system serving the cities of Longview and Kelso in Cowlitz County, Washington." In addition, the RiverCities Transit Wikipedia page actually lists four routes that service the mall. Four changes were made, 3 wikitags were added, and the city was bolded. Is there a reason those tags are not added to the list? WikiCup 2019 September newsletter

The fourth round of the competition has finished in a flurry of last minute activity, with 454 points being required to qualify for the final round. It was a hotly competitive round with two contestants with over 400 points being eliminated, and all but two of the finalists having achieved an FA during the round. Casliber, our 2016 winner, was the highest point-scorer, followed by Enwebb and Lee Vilenski, who are both new to the competition. In fourth place was SounderBruce, a finalist last year. But all those points are swept away as we start afresh for the final round.

Round 4 saw the achievement of 11 featured articles. In addition, Adam Cuerden scored with 18 FPs, Lee Vilenski led the GA score with 8 GAs while Kosack performed 15 GA reviews. There were around 40 DYKs, 40 GARs and 31 GAs overall during round 4. Even though contestants performed more GARs than they achieved GAs, there was still some frustration at the length of time taken to get articles reviewed.

As we start round 5, we say goodbye to the eight competitors who didn't quite make it; thank you for the useful contributions you have made to the Cup and Wikipedia, and we hope you will join us again next year. Remember that any content promoted after the end of round 4 but before the start of round 5 can be claimed in round 5. Remember too that you must claim your points within 14 days of "earning" them (some people have fallen foul of this rule and the points have been removed).

Bellingham dance

Hello Bruce. Thanks - I am new to contributing to Wikipedia so I appreciate the feedback. I'm curious as to why you retained Northwest Ballet (while removing the link) but removed my new reference to Bellingham Repertory Dance. Northwest Ballet, Opus Performing Arts, and BAAY (along with several other dance schools in Bellingham) are schools that also put on performances of various levels of quality. Northwest Ballet, in particular, is not a professional or semi-professional dance company; they are a ballet school that runs a number of local performances throughout the year - in this way the are not different from several other dance and performing arts schools in Bellingham (although they attempt to market themselves as a "dance company"). They are also not a "theatre" as are the other "bullet points" in the "Local Theatre" section (btw I'm glad you added the Firehouse - I was planning to do that myself today). BAAY actually is a "theatre" - their facility includes a 90 seat performance space.

Bellingham Repertory Dance (commonly referred to as BRD), on the other hand, is a semi-professional contemporary dance company composed of trained adult dancers with significant dance experience. While not a "theatre" they are the only true dance company in Bellingham with the possible exception of "Kuntz and Company" (an ad-hoc group run by WWU dance professor Pam Kuntz).

I'm thinking of writing a separate article on BRD. As you are the local Wikipedia expert, I welcome your thoughts on this.
