- Proposing revised hooks as the lack of context may lower interest for those unfamiliar with American soccer:
- ALT1 ... that the Leagues Cup, a four-team competition between MLS and Liga MX clubs that is scheduled to debut in July 2019, was panned by critics as soon as it was announced?
- ALT1a ... that the Leagues Cup, an upcoming four-team competition between MLS and Liga MX clubs, was panned by critics as soon as it was announced?

- Now the Copyvio is solved, any of the above three is fine. I prefer ALT1a.
