"365"

In future, please note that unconfirmed song titles should not be added to Wikipedia, especially if websites merely say "reportedly titled", hence why SNUGGUMS has nominated your redirects for deletion. PopCrush is also not reliable per WP:ALBUMAVOID. Ss112 02:24, 23 January 2019 (UTC)

Making albums at alternative titles

Please in future just ask for a redirect that exists to be deleted by tagging it with G6 or asking an admin directly instead of creating articles at alternative titles you know to be incorrect. Thsmi002 got there before you and I think you knew you quite well that Eilish's album has a question mark in the title considering you made the article with the question mark intact in the prose, but then you leave it to someone else (page movers or admins) to fix it. It's annoying, so please do it the right way. Thank you. Ss112 02:22, 30 January 2019 (UTC)

I had no idea how this page moving works and what reason to come up with to justify speedy deletion so I just left it there. Thanks for telling me about it! -- Lk95 09:30, 30 January 2019 (CET)

Single chart Germany2 now uses songid

Hi there. Just FYI, {{Single chart}} with Germay2 now uses |songid= instead of |id=, see Template talk:Single chart#Parameter name. A bot was run to replace the parameter, so please use the correct one from now on. Happy editing! --Muhandes (talk) 15:01, 17 March 2019 (UTC)

Diskografie or Discographie?

As a native German speaker who regularly adds charts and also edits the German Wikipedia, I thought best to ask you. Why do some German chart sites use "Discographie" while the German Wikipedia uses "Diskografie" for discographies? What's the correct one in German, or are they both valid and preferred in different contexts? Ss112 23:06, 1 April 2019 (UTC)

Per our national spelling dictionary both are equally acceptable hence the German wiki pretty much unanimously using "Diskografie" while places like offiziellecharts refer to it as "Discographie". As the term is hardly found in everyday use I can't say for sure which one is preferred but I would rather use "Diskografie" since it's kind of integrated in me for obvious reasons. -- Lk95 12:34, 2 April 2019 (CEST)

Edit Summaries, COI?, unexplained deletions

You have been here long enough to know you should be using edit summaries. Why aren't you? When will you start?

Do you work for the music industry? Are you paid to edit?

Although we are not supposed to template the regulars, I'm seriously considering leaving warnings and templates on your talk page if I don't see good explanations for edits like this that have no edit summary. I was about to template an edit like that for vandalism before I saw you have over 17,000 edits, which appear to be exclusively dedicated to music rankings and certifications. --David Tornheim (talk) 08:14, 27 April 2019 (UTC)

  • @Lk95: You have not answered my questions above about whether you are paid to edit or whether you are working for the music industry. Please answer. --David Tornheim (talk) 18:13, 28 April 2019 (UTC)

Girls Like You -- Sources

Can you please explain this edit? Do you think a Twitter post is proper WP:RS? If so, why? Why did you promptly delete it without explanation? This kind of unreasonable addition and deletion without explanation appears disruptive to me. --David Tornheim (talk) 08:22, 27 April 2019 (UTC)

I agree with you that I should be providing edit summaries more often. The cases you mentioned are instances of me removing temporary sources that are used to back up the main source for a very limited time. The first example links to the album page where the chart position gets added every week at the same time. However, the database updates like an hour before (which is why I'm linking to the searching section of offiziellecharts.de and removing it after an hour). The second example is just trying to prevent (mostly) IP editors from adding unsourced content. French certifications are announced on the official Twitter handle of SNEP on Mondays; however, the official database is not updated until Tuesday. It's annoying to revert IPs that only link to the official website but without actual proof. So to support it I temporarily add a supporting official Twitter source and remove it as soon as it's no longer needed. I know it's not ideal but it's the only way to preempt entirely unsourced additions. -- Lk95 21:34, 27 April 2019 (CEST)
Thank you for these responses. That helps explain your bizarre additions and deletions of WP:RS. I do not know if that is kosher with what we do here. I plan to look into that soon.
Please answer above about whether you have a WP:COI and whether you are being paid to edit. You promised to start using edit summaries. Why are you continuing to edit without using edit summaries? See my further warning below. --David Tornheim (talk) 18:18, 28 April 2019 (UTC)
Yeah sorry, I'm used to not giving edit summaries most of the times, I noticed right after I hit submit that it was without an edit summary. And no, I'm not being paid to edit and I do not work in any music-related field. All of what I do on here is part of my personal interests and involves my spare time so by default none of this has to do with COI. -- Lk95 20:48, 28 April 2019 (CEST)
I know you were asked to start using edit summaries, but I also see you adding summaries for redirects. Those are generated automatically—you don't need to worry about edit summaries for those in most cases! Ss112 15:14, 10 May 2019 (UTC)
Noted. Thanks! -- Lk95 17:54, 10 May 2019 (CEST)

Edit Summaries

We discussed this already. This is another warning. --David Tornheim (talk) 18:12, 28 April 2019 (UTC) Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to Chaleur humaine does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! --David Tornheim (talk) 18:12, 28 April 2019 (UTC)

IDC / I Don't Care

As you knew IDC (song) already existed, an article for the same song, it would have been helpful for you to just move it to the article space you created instead of making your own. If you know an article already exists for the topic but is perhaps is just not in the right place, consider moving it in future. Ss112 17:35, 7 May 2019 (UTC)

Hi Lk95. "I Don't Care (Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber song)" is clearly the best title for the article. I think the best way to deal with this is to delete your redirect per CSD G6 to make way for an uncontroversial page move of "IDC (song)." I'm sorry about that, but it really is redundant and the other page was created first. Best regards... -Ad Orientem (talk) 17:43, 7 May 2019 (UTC)
Hey. Thank you for moving it. As I mentioned in my edit summary, I'm totally fine with moving the namespace to the other article. -- Lk95 20:16, 7 May 2019 (CEST)

Might I ask how you found your way to this redirect? You’re not the creator of Tove Lo discography so you wouldn’t have gotten a notification about its creation. And if you heard about it off-wiki, you should be aware that it was announced by a reliable person, and yet again there’s no reason to have it deleted (aside from you wanting to quickly snatch the article when Tove announces it officially).—NØ 18:17, 15 May 2019 (UTC)

I found out about it through pop forums and I'm sure we're not taking some insider's words as confirmation now. -- Lk95 20:34, 15 May 2019 (CEST)
Hi then. I’m assuming we're using the same forum. Regarding the redirect, maybe we could wait till May 31? The user who confirmed this is the same one who announced the titles of Taylor's "Me!" and the new Shawn Mendes song days in advance. So it’s just a matter of time before Tove confirms it.—NØ 18:41, 15 May 2019 (UTC)
Yeah I think that's the best way to settle this, unless more information is given out in advance. Plus there should be an official mention on the target article at least. -- Lk95 20:54, 15 May 2019 (CEST)

On an unrelated note (but I’ll avoid creating another section), the "List of songs recorded by" lists are only for songs which have been confirmed as recorded. The Miley Cyrus "Cattitude" thing is pure speculation since the specific tweet you linked didn’t mention that it’s a song, and the she didn't confirm the name of the song she recently performed as "Cattitude". Extra care needs to be taken when adding content to a featured list. Regards.—NØ 19:33, 25 May 2019 (UTC)

LVER

Hello sis. I don't think the album title is Lover. If you see the Me! music video, the sign actually reads L❤VER. If you remove the heart its actually 'LVER', which would probably stand for "La Vie en rose". This would make sense since Taylor has been teasing that her speaking in French in the video is a clue. Also, an insider from Pulse music boards has said that the title will be "related to roses". So I'm actually 80% sure its La vie en rose. I suggest you move the article to Draft:La Vie en rose (Taylor Swift album) instead and don't keep it in mainspace for now. Would hate to see admins shouting at you for starting the article at the wrong title based on rumours since it happened to me recently. You're welcome and happy editing.--NØ

Hey there. Thanks for your advice. I read about that title too and I think it's a good idea to move it to draft for now. -- Lk95 21:18, 13 June 2019 (CEST)
Whoops, sorry for that lol. You were right originally. I like "Lover" more than La vie en rose too tbh. And the album cover slays.--NØ 20:56, 13 June 2019 (UTC)
No problem, I was basically just as clueless. I really like the album cover too, better than I expected. -- Lk95 23:25, 13 June 2019 (CEST)

Disambiguation link notification for June 19

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Only Human (Jonas Brothers song), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Idolator (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Need Help!

Hi! Could you help me with Miley's page discography? I saw you know how to use tables and i don't but i tried. The promo singles that were added are not promo and were singles but i don't know how to add them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by No voy a llorar (talkcontribs) 20:24, 20 June 2019 (UTC)

Hey, I don't see any section that says "Promotional singles" on her discography page so that can't be a possibility. Any single that has officially been released as such is shown on either of the lists under "Singles". If you want to add a new single there's gotta be a reputable source saying so unless it comes from the artists themselves. -- Lk95 20:51, 20 June 2019 (UTC)

Don't Call Me Angel

I've proposed that the article you created for "Don't Call Me Angel" be deleted as the title of the song hasn't been revealed yet. Fan4Life (talk) 22:27, 27 June 2019 (UTC)

@Fan4Life: Your PROD tag has been removed, so you can take it to AfD if you want it deleted. Various news outlets have reported on the title, and as it seems likely, it is okay (although certainly not preferable to having a confirmed title) to run with until/unless it is revealed to have a different title. I don't think the best strategy is expunging all links to the article from all three artists' discographies. What matters is there's an article on the collaboration, whatever its title may be. Propose it for deletion at AfD, then you can remove the entries at all three discographies. That would be the sensible thing to do. Ss112 01:18, 28 June 2019 (UTC)

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Fan4Life (talk) 10:33, 28 June 2019 (UTC)

About a redirect you created

Hello. I didn't want to RfD it because I personally find RfDs annoying, but do you think the redirect Goodbye (Post Malone song) should be deleted since the final song title is plural? If you agree then you can blank it yourself and G7 it without needing discussion. Also do you think perhaps Don't Call Me Angel should be removed from Ariana, Miley and Lana's discography pages until such time as they confirm the song name and release date? Miley will assumably be releasing another single before that since her next EP will probably precede DCMA.--NØ 13:12, 5 July 2019 (UTC)

Hey, yeah it can very well be deleted, I forgot I even created it lol. I'll put it up for G7 a little later. As for the links, I think they can be removed until the song is fully confirmed to be a single. -- Lk95 14:38, 5 July 2019 (UTC)
Ok! The "Goodbye" redirect blanking will have to be done by you though since G7 eligibility requires blanking by the author. I'll take care of the "Don't Call Me Angel" thing.--NØ 15:57, 5 July 2019 (UTC)

All the Good Girls Go to Hell

Hi. Just wanted to give you a heads up that Marano Fan created an article on this subject. My normal procedure when an article is created by an editor where a redirect that was never an article currently exists, is to delete the redirect in favor of the new article. If you have any questions please drop me a line or ping me. Thanks for all your work on the project. -Ad Orientem (talk) 18:56, 4 September 2019 (UTC)

Hey, I'm aware of the procedure but I appreciate you informing me about it. Thank you! -- Lk95 10:38, 5 September 2019 (UTC)

OneRepublic

What exactly is the point of you reverting my edit on OneRepublic with the Italian certification and then adding it on your own? Changing the date format which exactly is different in different countries (both can be right, in some countries it is first date then month then year) and it was accessed on that date 21 August, so you then change all of it... I mean, what? Dhoffryn (talk) 20:50, 22 September 2019 (UTC)

I had to go way back to see what certification you were talking about. I was indeed in the wrong for reverting you there because I assumed you added the certification on 26 August and accidentally typed in 21 August but you actually added it on 21 August, I apologize. The date format was still wrong though. OneRepublic is an American band, therefore the correct date format is mm/dd/yyyy. In that case, it does not matter what date format you use where you come from. Articles go by the nationality of the person in question. -- Lk95 08:08, 23 September 2019 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on File:Kevin Gates - I'm Him.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. GSS💬 10:02, 31 October 2019 (UTC)
