JStuStudios

can you look at the hCard problems in JStuStudios? from the edit history, it is asserted that there is no existing infobox which can be used on this article. Frietjes (talk) 17:39, 7 October 2016 (UTC)

@Frietjes: {{Infobox comedian}} specifically has options - and a copyable blank - for groups, which includes duos. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 17:45, 7 October 2016 (UTC)
good idea, but unlikely that Mjbmr will find that acceptable. Frietjes (talk) 17:53, 7 October 2016 (UTC)
Then use WP:DR; starting with the article talk page. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 18:06, 7 October 2016 (UTC)

Second opinion on a template

Hey Andy, could I get your thoughts on {{Checkboxes and Switch templates}}? On the one hand a "See also" would suffice, but having a sidebar is a bit more obvious. Cheers, Primefac (talk) 02:42, 7 October 2016 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) Possibly relevant. – Jonesey95 (talk) 02:57, 7 October 2016 (UTC)
Jonesey95, in this particular instance, I'm not sure it is (which is why I didn't feel it relevant to mention); they've been dicking about in the template space recently, but other than a few poorly-named moves there haven't been any major CIR issues (just "why did you create this...?" issues). Primefac (talk) 03:23, 7 October 2016 (UTC)
I agree that a "see also" would suffice. Why not Tfd it? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 12:44, 7 October 2016 (UTC)
I was planning on it if you agreed with me. I've been entrenched in monitoring/fixing the user's template contributions so I was concerned I might be overly biased/judgmental. Primefac (talk) 00:56, 8 October 2016 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for October 9

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Invite to the African Destubathon

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most geography, wildlife and women articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 55 African countries, so should be enjoyable! Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African wildlife articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance. If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing any article related to a topic you often work on, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Might be a good way to work on fleshing out articles you've long been meaning to target and get rewarded for it! Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 04:57, 13 October 2016 (UTC)

Wikidata property migration

Hey Andy. The last two templates listed for Wikidata property migration don't have anything for the bot to remove. — JJMC89(T·C) 02:48, 18 October 2016 (UTC)

Timelines

There was an RFC not to allow timelines in articles. Is there a way to find them all, or at least count how many we have? Perhaps a query with "timeline" appearing as a section header "==Timeline==". --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 20:14, 18 October 2016 (UTC)

What a silly idea. Where was this RfC? I don't recall seeing it announced on {{Cent}}, for example. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 05:21, 19 October 2016 (UTC)
Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Biography for the closed RFC. I am trying to get more people to respond at Wikipedia talk:Timeline. --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 14:57, 19 October 2016 (UTC)
Can you help me find the articles with timelines so I can delete them, you responded then I never heard from you again. Also how do I make a category appear on the talk page? Category:Articles containing timelines. You did not respond at WP:Timelines so you seem to have no objections to removing all the timelines. --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 22:57, 24 October 2016 (UTC)
I responded here, saying "What a silly idea". Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 09:53, 25 October 2016 (UTC)
I was hoping you would defend them at the new discussion. Since the !vote is to remove them, and no one objected to removing the one at Albert Einstein, how do I find them in the raw text. How can I search for "==timeline==" and "==chronology==" in the unformatted text? --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 15:25, 25 October 2016 (UTC)
If you agree that it is silly to delete them, then please speak up at the current debate. Silence means you agree with the current policy. Just 6 people responded to the RFC which led to the deletion order. Or help me find them so they can be deleted. --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 01:33, 27 October 2016 (UTC)

Template:Infobox person

Can you change the language: Remove the requirement that parents be "independently notable" (blue-linked) or "particularly relevant" for the "parent" field at Template talk:Infobox person? --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 00:34, 25 October 2016 (UTC)

What stops you from doing so? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 16:39, 25 October 2016 (UTC)
Give me admin rights and I will do it. --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 20:54, 25 October 2016 (UTC)
I am not a admin. However, the template's documentation is not protected. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 10:29, 26 October 2016 (UTC)
