Comments about the career statistics: 1) the last row in the table should state "average" and not total. 2) The averages for field goals and 3pt field goals shouldn't be averages of the 3 season averages. It would make more sense to do a sum of all shots completed / attempted. That would be his true career field goal percentage.

Reassessment

There was a request to reassess this article at WP NBA. I upgraded from C-class to B, though it was borderline for me if there were sufficient citations. I left as low importance for NBA project, as he hasn't played that many years yet nor achieved a significant honor like All-Star or All-NBA. Is it time to re-assess Curry's importance to the NBA project? He won MVP for the regular season, and if his Warriors go on to win the Finals he stands a good chance of winning Finals MVP as well. "Off the Court" = Off the Page

I noticed that the section of biographies usually labeled "Personal..whatever" was instead titled "Off the Court." I found the same thing @ Blake Griffin and changed both to "Personal Life." "Off the Court" is 1) informal language and 2) an attempt to make the article 'distinctive,' with a hint of 'branding.' The fact that it appears in more than one related article indicates a possibility that someone is being paid/hired to manage these articles. All excellent reasons to 'revert' to the standard format. Hey, Tapered. I don't particularly care what those headers say (I suppose I'm for "Personal life") but if you change headers, make sure you don't capitalize every word. So if you change "Off the court" to "Personal life", make sure you don't make the l in life a capital letter. Greatest 3-pt shooter or just greatest shooter?

@Divergence5: You added to the lead that Curry is "is considered by some to be the greatest three-point shooter in NBA history". That seems more restrictive than what sources generally say, and what is stated currently at Stephen_Curry#Player_profile: "Many basketball analysts, commentators, and current and former players consider Curry to be the greatest shooter of all-time." He's generally called the greatest shooter, not just 3-pt shooter, and it's probably (at least) a generally held opinion as opposed to just by some.—Bagumba (talk) 03:09, 20 January 2016 (UTC)

As I tried to nicely say here, I think the recent changes to the lead have been completely unnecessary and not entirely productive. The lead has always only said shooter. The lead should say "shooter" only because "shooter" is what sources say. Nearly all of the references listed after the sentence say "shooter" in the title. If they all said "three-point shooter", then the lead should say "three-point shooter", but that's not the case. It's also not opinion. With all these sources, the sentence belongs in the lead. Ten sources after one sentence, however, is silly and it should be changed back to what it was originally (2-4 sources after the sentence and more in other parts of article). "three-point shooter" may be more accurate or specific but again it should say what sources say and sources discuss all around shooting (any jump shot). Those sources don't talk about there being better two-point shooters; that's opinion. I also doubt these better players are better shooters than Curry and layups or whatever are a different story. That's not what sources would say. Obviously, the definition of "shooter" includes three-point shooting so it's not at all wrong to say shooter. There's seems to only be one editor who thinks the sentence shouldn't be there at all but it looks to me that they removed it because there was no sources there. This is a stupid thing to debate. One thing for sure is that ten sources in one spot is stupid. In short, say "shooter" only because it better reflects what sources say, and only include around 4 sources after the sentence. The wording of MVPs and championships can go any old how and mention of family is appropriate because without it the leads gives nothing on personal life. —DangerousJXD (talk) 04:21, 20 January 2016 (UTC)

That's why I reverted. With edits having so far been disagreed with, reverting without any further discussion is questionable. Divergence5, I suggest at least talking it out a little more, not wildly reverting, rereading what's already been said by others here and in the page history, and remaining civil. Please create a new tab discussing Stephen Curry's Impact on the 3 point shooting of the NBA. NBA teams have slowly been shooting more and more 3 point field goals. Stephen Curry is changing the way the 3 point shot is looked at. It wasn't until 2014 that the league average peaked 20 3 point attempts per game, that number has continued to grow to 23.7 in 2016. Curry has shot the deep ball more than anyone in that time, this season he has attempted 886 3 pointers, 229 more than the next player James Harden who shot 657. Of the 886 3 point shots Curry put up, he made 402 for a percentage of 45.4%. He was the first NBA leading scorer to average more 3 point attempts than 2 point attempts. Curry set the record for 3 pointers in a season with his 402, obliterating his old record of 286. With the rise in 3 point shooting, Curry has taken advantage more than any other player, in the 2015-16 season he had 7 games with 9+ 3 pointers made, no other player in NBA history has more than 5 such games in their entire career. Curry is not only shooting and making more 3s than anyone, he's taking them from much deeper, in the 2015-16 season he made 21 shots from 30 feet and beyond, no other player has more than 3. With numbers rising for attempts per game, and players percentages going up as well there is no sign of the 3 point rate slowing down, led by Steph Curry and his unheard of ability to shoot the 3 point shot. NBA MVP official?

I saw that Steph's 2nd MVP award wasn't edited onto the Wikipedia article (it's not the infobox, nor is it in his career highlights.) Is this just a mistake, or has it been changed due to the award being unofficial? I've updated both the infobox and his career highlights just in case. Why do we need to jump the gun? He has not been officially named the MVP. Wikipedia is not the associated press or a rumor mill. What do we gain by adding the MVP information prematurely? Please add the fact that Stephen Curry has won his second MVP (back to back) joining Steve Nash (x2) and Magic Johnson (x3) for the only point guards to win the MVP award more then once. He is also the first ever player to be unanimously voted MVP in NBA history receiving 131 first place votes. [3]

I personally think that Ayesha Curry should have her own article rather than being a redirect/section here. I believe that the amount of media coverage she gets and her projects warrant inclusion in her own right. However, I did not want to make this change on my own without having a discussion about it. What exactly makes her specifically notable other than being a personality on social media? Her notability derives from her relationship to Stephen. I think an "Ayesha Curry" article would certainly be nominated for AfD, and I don't think you'd be able to find too many reliable secondary sources that discuss Ayesha and not Stephen.
