00:41:44, 10 June 2016 review of submission by Tracy Symonds-Keogh[edit]

HI the reviewer has requested me to verify that the page is not the same as a redirection which is a totally different person (Steven Avery) and I dont know how to find out who the reviewer is or how to respond

Any help most appreciated Tracy Symonds-Keogh (talk) 00:41, 10 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! Brendan Dassey is a page which redirects to Steven Avery#Halbach Murder. Brendan Dassey is mentioned where they talk about him being prosecuted. If you feel that Brendan Dassey deserves a separate page to himself (which I don't think he does) then you can continue with your draft article. What I do recommend you do is to merge the contents of your draft article and put it into the section on Steven Avery's page which talks about Brendan Dassey, which would be more suitable in my opinion. st170etalk 01:00, 10 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

01:17:21, 10 June 2016 review of submission by Cordell Affeldt[edit]

I submitted an article, DRAFT:OLIVER_LAGRONE, in Sandbox, which has been responded to. Now I don't know if I need to submit it again, or if it is already in queue to be reviewed again. If I need to submit it again, how do I do so? Once it is posted, I have other persons lined up who will add an external link and add photos. I appreciate any directions you can offer. I have tried to do this appropriately, but I think I don't understand the process.

Cordell Affeldt (talk) 01:17, 10 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Cordell Affeldt: The large yellow box at the top of Draft:Oliver LaGrone shows that it's in the pool to be reviewed. While you wait (with the current backlog, don't be surprised if it takes at least a month), check out other ways to improve Wikipedia. --Worldbruce (talk) 02:01, 10 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Request on 07:03:35, 10 June 2016 for assistance on AfC submission by TimSensei[edit]

Hi, I've had this draft reviewed twice now.. and improved the referencing details from other reliable independent sources.. so where am I going wrong?

TimSensei (talk) 07:03, 10 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi TimSensei. http://www.marmai.fi/blogit/vierasblogi/nain-yrittanytta-ei-laiteta-ulkomaillakaan-6296093 is a guest blog, so it is not a reliable source and should not be used as a reference. That leaves two sources (two articles from one publisher count as one independent source for the purposes of notability - see footnote 2 to WP:CORP). Novice editors are often advised to cite at least three in-depth, independent, reliable, secondary sources about their topic. The ideal number is probably higher than three, but quality matters more than quantity - a single substantial article in The Times (London) would be a stronger indicator of notability than several shorter articles in local soft-news outlets. --Worldbruce (talk) 16:01, 11 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Request on 15:48:13, 10 June 2016 for assistance on AfC submission by Limhwa97[edit]

Can anyone help with inserting inline references? Not sure what to do since I'm new to Wikipedia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Krasnostop_Zolotovski

Limhwa97 (talk) 15:48, 10 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Limhwa97. Help:Referencing for beginners is a detailed how-to guide. I've done two inline references for you as an example. Use the same technique to identify which source supports which statement(s) in the draft. --Worldbruce (talk) 15:41, 11 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there - just trying to check on the review status of my page, here's a link to it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:NextGenGolf.

It's been waiting for review for about three weeks now. There is one comment on it suggesting to list a couple references as external links, which I went ahead and changed. Thanks for your help.

Andrew

Xcf1456 (talk) 17:05, 10 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Xcf1456: The draft is in the pool, and will be reviewed in due course. The wait will probably last at least another week. One note regarding the opening sentence: encyclopedia articles should be written so that they do not easily become dated. Avoid language like "18-34 year olds, also know as 'millennials'". Even it that is true today, in 5, 10, or 15 years it will be false because then that age range will not be known as "millennials". --Worldbruce (talk) 15:07, 11 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I see that I advised the author to move the references to the organization's own web site to the External Links sections, and they deleted them instead. Please create an External Links section with those links. Robert McClenon (talk) 16:10, 11 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

{{Lafc|username=Iamnewtowiki|ts=20:37:42, 10 June 2016|page= https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meghan_Jadhav

My request for the submission of the page 'Meghan Jadhav' has been declined. Please guide me how I can improve it. I'm completely new in how to use the codes in wiki. Iamnewtowiki (talk) 20:37, 10 June 2016 (UTC) Iamnewtowiki (talk) 20:37, 10 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Iamnewtowiki: This page is for questions about the Articles for creation process. Meghan Jadhav is an existing article, so it is outside our scope. Please consider asking this question at the Wikipedia:Help desk, which is where editors will try to answer any question regarding how to use Wikipedia. Just follow the link, select the relevant section, and ask away. --Worldbruce (talk) 14:53, 11 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
This is a valid question to ask here, because they submitted a sandbox draft User:Iamnewtowiki/sandbox, which is actually about Meghan Jadhav and was declined as duplicating an existing article. In my opinion, neither the sandbox nor the article is satisfactory. However, it is a valid question here to ask why a sandbox draft was declined. Since the editor tried to make edits to Meghan Jadhav that were reverted, they may be trying to submit a new article in its place, a possible new editor mistake. Robert McClenon (talk) 16:07, 11 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
i was trying to edit the original article but was stopped by your member and asked to use sandbox. I edited in sandbox n submitted. Im not trying to create a new or duplicate. I'm new to wiki plus guide me. Iamnewtowiki (talk) 18:32, 11 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
