revert in Shahr-kord for one reason[edit]

Your weather box removal in Shahr-e Kord created a citation error. And now the extreme temperatures cannot be verified.

I suggest you to do a partial revert in order to restore the reference. I would solve the snow days problem myself.PAper GOL (talk) 21:28, 27 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@PAper GOL Hi, sorry for my late response and mistake. I've seen some later edits on Shahr-e Kord; I assume you have fixed the issue? Uness232 (talk) 15:31, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I fixed it as soon as I could. And it wasn't the last page I had to look for.PAper GOL (talk) 15:34, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@PAper GOL Sorry; I suppose there were two pages with this error, and the other page was Tabriz? If there were more than two they are not my doing, and I made those two changes because Ileagae, whose edits are also problematic for other reasons, started carelessly inserting weather-boxes on Iranian city articles. In some of these pages, this led to unnecessary weatherbox spam. I only tried to fix the two most visible ones, but I guess even this was too hasty. I am sorry, again, but please consider the extremely quick pace in which their edits were made. Uness232 (talk) 15:47, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's okay. I had plenty of time for to fix the changes. The same problem was present in Tehran and that needed more than solving errors. Other Iranian pages had no other problem except the extreme period and snow days.PAper GOL (talk) 15:52, 28 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Something about your sandbox project[edit]

I may be wrong, but it's better not to use Infoclimat for stations outside France. It simply has mistakes. This one [1] is just one reason I don't use infoclimat, (maximum of 91.7 C???!), another example [2] is over 1000 mm of annual precip in Karlovy vary, which in WMO normals has less than 700mm.

Still, it may be totally fine for Turkey. I just wanted to leave a note about it.PAper GOL (talk) 18:48, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@PAper GOL Infoclimat is a source of varying quality. Outside of France, it seems to synthesize METAR/MADIS etc. sources without much of a filter, so the quality depends on the quality of the reported data of the specific station. In Turkey, most stations are fine (except for certain extreme high/low values) and their data matches up with NOAA and other sources (though they tend to overestimate mean temp in cities because of their calculation method [mean of Tx and Tm]). In general, I use Infoclimat as a last resort; if there is a necessary station that has no other provider. Uness232 (talk) 21:09, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well explained, fellow.PAper GOL (talk) 21:14, 25 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
