I've added the sic template at the end of the hook so the readers know its errors have been deliberately preserved. BorgQueen (talk) 20:11, 26 March 2023 (UTC)

@BorgQueen: Could you instead wrap the whole thing in {{not a typo}}, the way it is in the article? No worries if not :) theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (she/her) 20:40, 26 March 2023 (UTC)
The thing is the not a typo or typo templates do not leave visible marks. BorgQueen (talk) 20:47, 26 March 2023 (UTC)
@BorgQueen: true – any wiggle room now that it's in the April Fools' Day set, though? theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (she/her) 06:07, 29 March 2023 (UTC)
Umm ok, removed. BorgQueen (talk) 08:11, 29 March 2023 (UTC)
thanks so much :) theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (she/her) 18:50, 29 March 2023 (UTC)

Too stupid to figure this out myself

Is there anywhere that shows the manual coding for adding an image to a DYK nomination? Was going to add File:Engraving of William Y. Slack.jpg to Template:Did you know nominations/William Y. Slack, but forgot to click that button on the semi-automated tool I was using. Doubt that Slack will run as a lead image, but I've always thought that image was a little haunting when you know the story behind it. Hog Farm Talk 01:46, 29 March 2023 (UTC)

@Hog Farm: try {{main page image/DYK}}? make sure to use the image and caption params :) theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (she/her) 02:16, 29 March 2023 (UTC)

John Green

Hey, after your lovely comments when you reviewed my Anthropocene Reviewed DYK a while back, I thought you'd be excited to see this! Cerebral726 (talk) 18:19, 29 March 2023 (UTC)

I saw your GA nomination, Cerebral726, totally hyped me up! Here, i've been meaning to... rummaging around in my duffel bag
The Original Barnstar
Surprisingly, there's no barnstar for a herculean effort on a single complicated article – no matter. What a fantastic job on John Green, DFTBA! :) theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (she/her) 18:26, 29 March 2023 (UTC)
Thanks for your very kind words :D! I was thrilled to finally get it there after a long long time of restructuring it. DFTBA to yourself as well! Cerebral726 (talk) 18:35, 29 March 2023 (UTC)

I cannot tell u how happy I am you made a Spiders Georg article. I'm so very glad the wiki has editors like you making articles on internet phenomena. Fantastic! — Ixtal ( T / C ) Non nobis solum. 09:54, 29 March 2023 (UTC)

Thanks so much, Ixtal! I love the articles that are fun, easy swings to get back in stride. theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (she/her) 18:20, 29 March 2023 (UTC)

Also wanted to say thanks for the well-timed Spiders Georg article, brought a smile to my face! Great to have these bits of culture documented. 🕷️ Dreamyshade (talk) 14:51, 1 April 2023 (UTC)

Jeff Wrana

Hello! I just wanted to let you know that (finally) I should have found a way of the stall on this DYK nomination I was reviewing, since I managed to find a few more useful secondary sources to use on the original article.

I hope they're helpful!

Oltrepier (talk) 08:24, 30 March 2023 (UTC)

Nice work, Oltrepier! John P. Sadowski (NIOSH) seems to have a handle on the review from here, so I'll leave it to you two from here :) theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (she/her) 03:47, 2 April 2023 (UTC)

DYK for Spiders Georg

On 1 April 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Spiders Georg, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that "'average person eats 3 spiders a year' factoid actualy just statistical error"? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Spiders Georg. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Spiders Georg), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

DYK request

If you get the time, can you please resolve this DYK nom? Storye book has made it clear he won't pass the DYK as it stands, and pinged you (among others) for a second opinion. Thanks, 𝕱𝖎𝖈𝖆𝖎𝖆 (talk) 13:07, 1 April 2023 (UTC)

my story today

My story today is about the Alchymic Quartet, - the last one from last year. - The songs are about vacation. -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:47, 2 April 2023 (UTC)

I made an exception from my DYK abstinence for Good Friday, - see my story today. Interesting to compare a hook 2023 style to one in 2012 (see my story today). - I sang, including chorales from Bach's greatest Passion. I recently listened to one by Homilius: a discovery! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:00, 7 April 2023 (UTC)

A question to the technical expert: what's going on on User talk:Urve? Or am I the only one to see the page opening in edit mode with a log poem ready to be edited, and after I edited the whole page, my signature is below it. ?? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:18, 7 April 2023 (UTC)

@Gerda Arendt: Could you show me the diff in question? theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (she/her) 15:01, 8 April 2023 (UTC)
That's what I'm looking for. I don't know if I'm the only one to see what I do. I click her talk page, and am immediately in edit mode for a new section, and that section contains already a long poem (horribly formatted), followed by my actual timestamp. I see no trace of that in the history of the talk. I edited her whole page in order to not add all that. Earlier, it was offered on my talk (several times), in case that helps. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:20, 8 April 2023 (UTC)
@Gerda Arendt: Oh, that happens to me sometimes – I generally just hit "cancel" and make sure it knows i want to discard the changes. theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (she/her) 15:32, 8 April 2023 (UTC)
We speak of two different things now. The poem was "given" to my on my talk, and I rejected after discussion. On Urve's talk, I don't see it added to her talk. Instead, it appears in a new section, ready to be added by the next person who uses the section, and I have no idea how that can happen. First question though: do you see the same thing when you click on her talk? I see it only on her talk, nowhere else. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:22, 8 April 2023 (UTC)
The effect on Urve's talk is also when I look at older versions, even before the invasion of Ukraine (to which the poem refers.) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:26, 8 April 2023 (UTC)
Anyway, per Urve's advice, I saved the think and undid that edit after wards, and it now seems fine. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:50, 8 April 2023 (UTC)
I loved to see Marian Anderson and her story of protest against discrimination by singing on Easter Sunday 9 April 1939 on the Main page yesterday. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:46, 10 April 2023 (UTC)

Copyedit/rewrite request

Hi leeky, I've seen you work on political articles, so when you have time would you mind taking a look at the article on Brandon Ogles? It needs an extensive rewrite; I was going to do it myself but I don't know where to start. Derpytoucan (talk) 19:40, 7 April 2023 (UTC)

Hey there, Derpytoucan! I'm stretched pretty thin at the moment, but a good place to start is finding as much coverage in reliable sources as you can. Most newspapers will do. Best of luck to you, let me know if you have any questions! theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (she/her) 03:42, 8 April 2023 (UTC)
Hi leeky, someone else removed most of the promotional content of the article, and that was the main problem, so it should make my job a lot easier. Thanks anyway, and keep up the good work! Derpytoucan (talk) 20:38, 9 April 2023 (UTC)
That was me, I happen to watch leeky's talk page and it was so bad I had to remove it. It appears there's been some COI editing of that page. Trainsandotherthings (talk) 13:08, 10 April 2023 (UTC)

Did you know nomination (Garry Kasparov)

Hi, I'm unable to reply to your question about whether this new GA can be "fixed" to meet the DYK requirements. My advice is to delete the nomination, which I did not make, for I can do no more to make user Bagumba happy. Regards Billsmith60 (talk) 11:36, 17 April 2023 (UTC)

I'll leave a note at the nomination for ya :) theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (she/her) 00:05, 18 April 2023 (UTC)
