The WikiChevrons with Oak Leaves | ||
On behalf of the Military History Project, I am proud to present the WikiChevrons with Oak Leaves for Hog Farm is the name in the English Wikipedia's coverage of the American Civil War, with dozens on dozens of articles of quality, and has devoted years of his time and energy to the coordination and maintenance of MILHIST. Cerro Panizos[edit]
Greetings, was wondering if you had time to do a pre-FAC checkup of Cerro Panizos, as I plan to send it to FAC after Hudson. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk) 08:15, 13 April 2024 (UTC)
- Sure, I'll take a look. I've got several other things I need to finish up first though, so it'll be later this week or maybe even the weekend before I can get to that. Hog Farm Talk 13:19, 15 April 2024 (UTC)
Aston Martin DB9 at FAC[edit]
Hi HF, could you possibly leave your comments on this FAC about the Aston Martin DB9? (This is my first nomination). The source and image review have both been concluded, so I think that, because this is my first, it will need quite a lot of supports. Thanks and best, and don't feel obliged to, 750h+ | Talk 13:46, 17 April 2024 (UTC)https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Hog_Farm/Editnotice&action=edit&redlink=1
- @750h+: - unfortunately I'm rather busy in real life right now and am fairly backlogged on things I've already promised people to review on-wiki, but I might be able to take a look at some point in the future. Hog Farm Talk 01:21, 18 April 2024 (UTC)
- Okay, hope things get better, and thanks for the response. 750h+ | Talk 03:24, 18 April 2024 (UTC)
- @Hog Farm: with the FAC where you said "Let me know when PCN02WPS finishes their review and I'll try to take a look.", PCN02WPS stated that their time might be a little limited, do you mind reviewing before PCN02WPS does? 750h+ | Talk 03:09, 26 April 2024 (UTC)

Calling all talk page stalkers[edit]
Battle of Grand Gulf is going to be TFA on 4/29 - due to work being busy that day I will not be able to adequately monitor the TFA for changes that day. I would appreciate it if people keep an eye on that one in case it attracts problematic edits through the semi-protection. Thanks! Hog Farm Talk 13:59, 26 April 2024 (UTC)

- Thank you today for the article, introduced: "Mainly a ship vs. shore naval bombardment, there's not a whole lot to the battle itself, but it is inseparable from one of the most significant events in American military history: Grant's crossing of the Mississippi River during the Vicksburg campiagn." - I watch every TFA on the day, did you know? I have a rather sad story on the same page, - yesterday's was more fun. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:21, 29 April 2024 (UTC)
Administrators' newsletter – May 2024[edit]
News and updates for administrators from the past month (April 2024).
- Phase I of the 2024 requests for adminship review has concluded. Several proposals have passed outright and will proceed to implementation, including creating a discussion-only period (3b) and administrator elections (13) on a trial basis. Other successful proposals, such as creating a reminder of civility norms (2), will undergo further refinement in Phase II. Proposals passed on a trial basis will be discussed in Phase II, after their trials conclude. Further details on specific proposals can be found in the full report.
- Partial action blocks are now in effect on the English Wikipedia. This means that administrators have the ability to restrict users from certain actions, including uploading files, moving pages and files, creating new pages, and sending thanks. T280531

- This may be a good time to reach out to potential nominees to ask if they would consider an RfA.

Battle of Tinian[edit]
I know you are semi-retired and very busy, but if you could have a look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/Assessment/Battle of Tinian, that would be appreciated. I just need one more review. Hawkeye7 (discuss) 00:57, 6 May 2024 (UTC)
- I'll try to get to this over the next week. I should be less busy this week than I was last week. Hog Farm Talk 01:30, 6 May 2024 (UTC)
