An article you recently created, Dustin Henderson (Stranger Things), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

Control copyright icon Hello SeanTheYeti452, and welcome to Wikipedia. While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 16:11, 6 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:SethBrundle.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:SethBrundle.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Chatterer into another page. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 14:43, 3 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi SeanTheYeti452. I noticed that you recently used celebritynetworth.com as a source for biographical information in Joker (Jack Napier). An Update[edit]

Hey to whomever might be reading this,

So I know I haven't really been as active with creating much of anything or really even contributing on the site in a few months. I know you might think that quarantine has given me a lot of free time right, well I've still got my college courses online to focus on, it's not really the same as when I was in high school where once I know I've finished everything I've got time to work on here anymore. Just trying to stay on top of everything takes up a lot of time, and I just really don't have much free time anymore, and when I do I'm mostly just writing music to try and get further in my degree.

I did end up working on the Brighton Rock page recently, which was the first time I'd gotten one of my Sandbox projects really anywhere notable since the Joker page went up back in March I want to say? I did have some ideas about making another page based on the character of Baby from Baby Driver, but due to the recent accusations against Ansel Elgort, that really dampened my spirits. I personally really looked up to Ansel as someone I strived to be like, and I was severely let down to discover everything that came to light about him. Now it actually really hurts because people would often say that I looked a lot like him as well before I changed my hair colour earlier this year.

But I might be working on some more projects potentially next month, we'll see. Due to the virus I'll only have one week of break from school now, and me and my family are going up to the northern part of Queensland (the state in Australia in which we live) to just get away from everything for a little bit. I would like to make a dent in the Beetlejuice projects in my Sandbox that I've barely even started on. But I honestly don't really know when I'll have my next article up and ready. These are very uncertain times, between the Virus and then the riots, it's just very unclear when anything is going to go back to normal.

But until then, I'll be around every now and then. I'm still a member of the Fictional Characters and Horror WikiProjects, and I'll be checking in on those. I'll be checking in on my pre-existing pages every now and then to see what changes have been made, how they're performing, so on and so forth (the John Wick, Ian Malcolm and Travis Bickle pages have really taken off this year). But I'll still be around even if I'm not very active.

Stay safe,

Sean

Don't feel any pressure Sean. Work as much as you feel like. Focus on your studies and relax some in the wonderful summer weather. <3 ★Trekker (talk) 07:47, 24 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
