January 2024[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm AntiDionysius. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Kolusu Parthasarathy, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! AntiDionysius (talk) 21:36, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Do you need proof for my changes Pavankalyan Yadav Panga (talk) 21:37, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. Everything added to Wikipedia needs to be cited. AntiDionysius (talk) 21:38, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not move a page to a title that is harder to follow, or move it unilaterally against naming conventions or consensus, as you did to Palla Srinivasa Rao. This includes making page moves while a discussion remains underway. We have some guidelines to help with deciding what title is best for a subject. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. In the absence of any sourcing for the name change, I have moved the article back to its prior title and changed the introduction of the article to agree to what is backed up in reliable sources.C.Fred (talk) 13:35, 15 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop. If you continue to move pages to bad titles contrary to naming conventions or consensus, as you did at Beeda Masthan Rao, you may be blocked from editing. Please review WP:COMMONNAME before attempting any more page moves.C.Fred (talk) 21:32, 15 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Qzd. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions—specifically this edit to Karumuri Venkata Nageswara Rao—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. Qzd (talk) 22:25, 15 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you move a page disruptively, as you did at Karumuri Venkata Nageswara Rao. —C.Fred (talk) 14:28, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

To be clear, you mentioned https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jAptXqQCYr0 in the edit summary of the changes to the article, but that page itself contradicts your claim, but it only says "Rao", not "Rao Yadav"! —C.Fred (talk) 14:30, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
ok, next time I'll add more reliable sources Pavankalyan Yadav Panga (talk) 22:54, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction to contentious topics[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Warning[edit]

Hello, Pavankalyan Yadav Panga,

You may not realize it because all of the messages are squished together at the top of this page but you are close to losing your editing privileges through a block. Please spend some time and read over the messages under "January 2024" to see what problems may exist in your editing style.

For example, your page move on Beeda Masthan Rao was reverted. The next step isn't to revert it again but start a discussion on the article talk page. What you did was disruptive.

If you have questions about editing on Wikipedia, please bring them to the Teahouse where experienced editors can offer you advice and support. Liz Read! Talk! 05:18, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
