Help request[edit]

I recently created a page. To my understanding, when you save the page it is supposed to go live and be visible on Google, MSN, and other search engines. However, when I tried searching for my page, it does not appear. What can I do to successfully publish my page?

You created a user page at User:Larry Levin, not an article. From reading your user page, I don't think it should be made into an article. Wikipedia is an encylopedia for notable topics that have received significant coverage in independent sources. It is not a place to post information about yourself like you did. Please read Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not, particularly the section Wikipedia is not a blog, webspace provider, social networking, or memorial site. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks! --Mysdaao talk 18:29, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on User:Larry Levin, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ukexpat (talk) 18:34, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Larry Levin requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

Hello,

I fixed the problems my recently created and deleted page and article was experiencing. I believe I fixed Notability and Neutrality, and I was just wondering when the page will be approved/denied and visible on Google. Thank you very much!

Actually, it's a waiting game until Google's search engine indexes it. Wikipedia:Search engine test can explain how Google's search engine works on Wikipedia. --FAIL!Talk 18:25, 5 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) There is no approval/denial process on Wikipedia (but there is a deletion process like you already experienced). The article Larry Levin has now the same status as any other article on Wikipedia. When an article appears on Google is up to them and can take some time.
