  • hi Phantomsteve i could read any respons eon your page?

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ahmed Tarek Ola-abaza requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. TeapotgeorgeTalk 21:28, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Ahmed Tarek Bahgat Abaza for deletion[edit]

The article Ahmed Tarek Bahgat Abaza is being discussed concerning whether it is suitable for inclusion as an article according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ahmed Tarek Bahgat Abaza until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article.

I have explained in that nomination why I feel that the provided references are insufficient to indicate that he meets the criteria for inclusion. You are most welcome to explain why you feel that he does meet the criteria for inclusion listed here for writers and here for composers. Incidentally, I know that you left a message on my talk page about 9 hours after I left this notification, but have not edited since. I don't know if you saw this notification before you left the message on my talk page, but either way, if you feel that the article should be kept, I strongly urge you to leave a message at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ahmed Tarek Bahgat Abaza explaining why you feel that he meets the criteria for inclusion. I see that another editor has recommended deletion for not meeting WP:GNG - this means the General Notability Guidelines which can be found here - they are a higher level than the writer notability guidelines and the composer guidelines, but if he meets either of the writer or composer guidelines, then he should also meet the general guidelines. The page has been deleted again as content substantially similar to content deleted as the result of the deletion discussion. I strongly suggest that you draft the page in your userspace and seek consensus that the concerns raised in the deletion discussion have been answered before again posting that content to the encyclopedia. Rossami (talk) 18:50, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The problem was more serious than those sources addressed. They prove the existence of the person. Proof of existence is not the same as meeting Wikipedia's generally accepted inclusion criteria for biographies. Furthermore, the sources must meet the independence and reliability standards described at WP:RS. Blogs, directory listings and the like do not meet that standard.
I strongly recommend that you draft your content at a user-space sub-page such as User:Kellyrussell34/Ahmed Tarek Bahgat Abaza. Take the time to format the content there, assemble solid sources and very clearly address all the concerns raised during the deletion discussion. (Add {{Userspace draft}} to the top of the page to clearly show that it's under construction.) When complete, post a Request for Comment to see if others agree that it's ready and that all the concerns have been addressed. Only after that, ask to have the protection lifted and the draft promoted back to the main article space.
If you are willing to follow that path, I will move a copy of the now-deleted content into your userspace so you don't have to start from scratch. Let me know what you want to do. Rossami (talk) 19:02, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I have restored the most recent version. If there is a better one in history, just let me know which one (by date/time stamp) to restore. Rossami (talk) 19:11, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Per your request, I have made some minor format changes so the references present more clearly. In general, you should also add a synopsis of the reference link between the <ref> and </ref> tags. That text synopsis will then appear when the reader floats his/her mouse over the footnote number.
I wouldn't worry too much about formatting, though. There are many people who will help with that once the article has been restored. More critical in my mind is that those sources still do not prove that the subject meets Wikipedia's generally accepted inclusion criteria for biographies. They prove his existence but merely being interviewed on TV and tapped as a panelist is not enough. Rossami (talk) 00:41, 11 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
