Request reason:

Hi Admin. I think i know the reason now i cannot edit due to I use this IP on user TAM-Resources which I believe i violate policy on submitting and editing an article. I will be more diligent on creating a article and be mindful of what is needed to be done. I am reviewing every detail. Also due to unforeseen circumstance we no longer have access to the email address use for the account. If i can use this account and IP address. that would be helpful for us. I am a volunteer for the person I am creating a article. I don't earn any monetization for this. I intend to make contribution to things that i have may know to my knowledge. I know that creating a second account was wrong. it is written on your policy. I asked a person from the US to create an account which is TAM-Resources and i also sent an email to create an account on my own using the IP address. I think that would be one reason. But I will be using this account Iamjep1987 moving forward. And I might be on the other places while doing the edits. If you can unblock my IP that was associated with TAM-Resources is a big thank you on my end and will be mindful of the Policy that was taken place for WikiIamjep1987 (talk) 15:42, 13 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

So--if I follow all this correctly, you emailed someone in the United States to set up an account for you, User:TAM-Resources, which you then used from your own location to write up the spammy draft at Draft:Tomi Arayomi--for a living person in a completely different part of the world. After 331dot blocked the TAM account for spamming and a username violation, you started this account (I can't tell how) and tried to edit from your own location--on an IP which was caught under the block for the TAM account. What this tells me is that the system works, since autoblocks are intended to stop vandals and spammers from just doing it again after getting blocked.

I don't see any need to unblock you since you never explained your relationship, as TAM or as Jep1987, to the supposed prophet Tomi Arayomi: there is nothing about that draft and its history (meaning, your account and what geolocation tells me) that suggests you are here to improve our beautiful project. Instead, everything tells me that this was a failed attempt at writing a promotional article for money. Drmies (talk) 16:12, 13 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

The individual residing in Houston, Texas was one of my peers who collaborated on Draft:Tomi_Arayomi. As I mentioned earlier, I am a volunteer assisting them. I initiated the account creation process on August 30 and was able to communicate with the individual who created the account around September 6, if I recall correctly. Subsequently, I received an email from Wikipedia on September 7 confirming the account's activation.

Being new to Wikipedia, I was unaware of the specific guidelines, and I may have unintentionally violated some rules related to draft content. Upon reviewing the talk page, I realized that linking to certain pages might have been the reason for the spammy draft classification. That's why I wanted to inform you about the usernames that have been used in connection with this matter.

I appreciate your assistance in addressing this issue.

Hello Iamjep1987. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Iamjep1987. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Iamjep1987|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. 331dot (talk) 15:35, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
