Hello, Forbsie. You have new messages at Wikipedia:Help desk.

Hi there! I noticed you wanted some updates to the article Fiona Forbes. I'll be happy to make these updates, but there's a few questions/comments I need to make first -

  1. If you are Fiona, please be aware you have no control over the article based on the fact you are the subject. You are welcome to make uncontroversial edits such as correcting typographical errors (typos) or formatting errors, but please suggest any substantial changes on the talkpage first (located here.
  2. Regardless of who you are, we cannot take the official biography from her page, as it is copyrighted. Wikipedia aims to be free for anyone to use, reuse, modify, change, copy, or take for any purpose, conditions that "all rights reserved" prohibits. If Fiona is willing to license the text under the CC-BY-SA 3.0 license, she may do this, and then we can talk about using some of the text.
  3. Regardless of where the information comes from, it should all be attributed to a reliable source so the information can be verified. Some examples of reliable sources include newspapers, most magazines, academic journals, widely published books, and some documentaries and biographies. Some examples of unreliable sources include blogs, IMdB, other wiki sites, other user generated sites, and anything else without editorial oversight. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

If you want to make some changes, and have reliable sources for them, please post them here or on the talkpage and I'll take a look. Happy editing! ~Charmlet -talk- 23:32, 3 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
