COI and Very Long Warning

Hello! Thank you for proposing changes to my first wikipedia page. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_A._Hirsch You put in a COI and Very Long warning. To solve these problems what can I do? I was thinking of making another wikipedia page for Hirsch's Media appearances to condense the page so it is shorter. However, I do not know what I can do for the COI warning. I was provided no incentive for this page and created the page because David Hirsch is a respected member of the community with large achievements. Please help me troubleshoot this! Semi-glitch on your userpage

I'm not one to ask for help on these sort if things but one user seems like they follow my edits and just now reverted me AGAIN when this IP who originally put in the edits was revered by clue bot. When they put them back in I removed them again het this user states I didn't give a detailed edit summary that explained my edits or that I blanked the page. Could you help? It's getting on my nerves and on my TP it's in the section August 2017. I can't say anything to this user because they just remove my discussion on their talk page or don't reply to me on mine. I'm generally a nice person but this happens over and over again. And one time an IP edited a users TP so I removed it this user just put it back in and warned ME. ♠Dinah♠ 🎤 18:14, 15 August 2017 (UTC)

Creative Leadership Page

Hi there, thank you for reviewing the Creative Leadership page and for your feedback. I haven't written a Wikipedia page in awhile so am a little rusty. How can I improve the page to avoid deletion? I did indeed read many articles to put it together (I haven't done any original research of my own). Looking forward to receiving your input!   • @Lododo: Hey! First, for your own benefit, you CAN remove Proposed deletions, even from pages you created. It is true that you CANNOT do so if it is a speedy deletion or a deletion discussion, but you can in this situation. Second, thanks for checking in with me! It shows that you want to make a good article. So while I always (95% of the time) assume good faith, now I can be confident in good faith.

But, let's see. I removed PROD, so don't worry about deletion. It's hard for me to conceptualize how the tone appears unencyclopedic. It's really just as though it is manual on leadership or a presentation at a conference, rather than an article in an encyclopedia. Instead of advocating or supporting the information, just attempt to just state it, objectively. Honestly, I also think it would be an improvement to delete the lists of themes and just summarize them in text.

Example: Instead of Creative leadership is a philosophy and style of leadership that involves leading a group to a novel and innovative outcome. Creative leaders display behaviors that may contradict traditional management styles. [1] Creative leadership rejects the premise of creativity as the act of a lone genius,[2] and is instead based on the premise that innovation emerges from a group of individuals, particularly in conditions that promote creativity. In addition to relying on creative contributions from individuals, creative leaders provide supportive contributions: psychological, material, and/or social supports that trigger, enable, and sustain creative thinking in others.[3]

The tone should be closer to

Creative leadership is a style of leadership based upon the concept of working cooperatively to develop innovative ideas. Those who employ creative leadership tend to do so by creating conditions which promote creativity, often using their own contributions as an example.

  • @El cid, el campeador: Thank you for your reply! That's helpful feedback, I think I'll be able to make those changes to the tone. I'll go through in the next couple of days and work on the phrasing for a more encyclopedic style. I'll also change the way those themes are presented as well; I had looked at other leadership pages and saw lists like that so thought they would strengthen the article but sounds like they had the opposite effect. If you have some time for it, would it be okay if I send you a note when I've made the changes and you can have another look with your critical eye and let me know if anything else needs improvement? @Bhattacharya57 and Nayanhalder57: Hello! My concerns are: the articles are very short; they do not provide reliable references; and they may not be independently notable. My recommendation is to add the content from these articles into the article on the city they are located in. That is likely the best place to put information on these places - and even better, it will be in a central location (the city's article) where people can see everything at once, and learn more about the city, etc. Having separate articles for minor places in the city just makes it less likely readers will find out about the city. ‡ Єl Cid of ᐺalencia ᐐT₳LKᐬ 17:34, 18 August 2017 (UTC)

@Kudpung: Almost always new pages have issues which need to be tagged, but they are still passed as patrolled. I tagged it for notability, no sources, and overly detailed, which I believe is sufficient. Google comes up with sufficient results to show that it's a prevalent line of toys, and while it is written like a fan page, I highly doubt it is advertising. I have been trying not to CSD things unless I think it is unambiguous. Everyone has different standards for reviewing, but I think what I did was proper. 'insidious recreation of a previous article' - what I meant with that is that it is a sneaky recreation of an article that was already deleted. That would have been apparent from the page log. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 13:13, 20 September 2017 (UTC)
@Kudpung: Fair enough, but I don't consider deletion via PROD to be a bar on recreation. I specifically remember giving the article a lot of thought, and considered CSDing it or otherwise nominating it for deletion, but the google results were sufficient for me to decide to tentatively keep it. Well, it was somewhat older. We need to be extra vigilant at New Pages Feed now. With ACTRIAL operational, there will be far fewer crap pages to tag for deletion, but there will be a lot more cleverly crafted spam and paid editing which only a very experienced eye will catch. It's no problem, it didn't take me long to figure out it was a mirror. I didn't actually notice that the page had been created with a maintenance template, which yes would suggest it's been copied and pasted or recreated, but I can't find anywhere it may have come from and the date on the template is this month (which wouldn't fit well with this). The Mahendra Mewati article

Hi El Cid,

After you requested proper documentation at the Mahendra Mewati article, the editors there seem to have been quite busy adding the documentation you requested. After doing a few Google searches on Mewati, as an Indian actor who works primarily in theater (not movies) he does seem to have a reasonable amount of notability within India. Your template there now seems to have had the desired effect upon that article. I have therefore just removed the template requesting documentation. I hope that is OK with you. I got "edit conflict" from making the exact same change as you! The sentence was vague (compared how and by who?). The source was about how the label terrorism is used. If this event becomes notable for that, like this, it deserves its own section, but right now it's just journalism.

If someone undoes your edit with a vague summary like "removal of sourced material" or "please discuss", I would start a discussion. Anarcho-authoritarian (talk) 18:06, 2 October 2017 (UTC)

Yeah I know I messed up. I am kind of on a run to fix vandalism but I actually forgot to look at the page instead of just the history. I won't let that happen again.
