Thanks for the message[edit]

I'll go and have a look! ref tags can be very confusing at first - took me ages to work them out!. DuncanHill (talk) 00:37, 8 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I think it's fixed now, take a look at this link to see the changes (it's often easier to show than explain) - [1]. Basically, I enclosed the external links in <ref>ref tags like this</ref>, which make them show in the "references" section at the bottom of the article. I also fixed one tag which was closed improperly (it was <ref/> instead of </ref> at the end of a reference, which broke the "cite journal" template and messed up the text). I hope this makes sense - and thank you for adding references, it's good to see someone new working on the subject. Do please ask if I can help again, best wishes, DuncanHill (talk) 00:46, 8 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mining Wikiproject[edit]

You might be interested in joining the Mining Wikiproject - it's a place for people interested in mining to work together to improve articles. It's not very active at the moment, (it is qquite a new project), so new editors would be very welcome. DuncanHill (talk) 00:51, 8 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Devon Wikiproject[edit]

There's also a Devon Wikiproject, which may also be of interest. I've added the Dartmoor tin mining article to both of them. DuncanHill (talk) 00:54, 8 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Help desk question[edit]

Hi again, I have answered your help desk question about missing references at Wikipedia:Help desk#Missing references. Do please let me know if it makes sense (or if it doesn't!) DuncanHill (talk) 18:32, 17 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

in response to the cleanup flag in the article on Frederick Gowland Hopkins I am preparing to convert the Timeline list into prose form with additional information and references. Can this be done with one edit? Or do I have to rewrite the Biography section and save the page, and then do a second edit to remove the Timeline section? It doesn't really matter. I have a slight preference for doing things as multiple edits, just because there's a chance that one of the changes is fine and another is problematic. It is easier to revert the single problematic one.--SPhilbrickT 16:25, 1 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
