Thanks to PrimeHunter who taught me how to make this page blue, not red.

The default signature contains a link to the user page. As I have added to Wikipedia:Help desk#getting rid of red, all links are red as long as the page has not been created. It tells the person seeing the link that nothing is there yet. People usually create a Wikipedia:User page to say something about their Wikipedia interest or themselves.

I didn't know the toothpaste story but I know many people had good reason to avoid German detection during the Occupation of Denmark. PrimeHunter (talk) 00:43, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
