Generally, these lists consist solely of notable persons about whom there either already are, or should be, existing articles. Since state representatives are inherently notable and should already have articles about them, I restored those names. If the folks you've added to the article are notable, then they should be linked; and if the link is a redlink, you should write at least a stub about them, establishing what makes them notable by Wikipedia's standards. --Orange Mike | Talk 19:44, 19 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Members of the state legislators including the Wisconsin Legislature are notable and therefore are listed in the UW-Milwaukee alumni list. Please do not removed the names. Thank you-RFD (talk) 13:54, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Your persistent effort to remove notable UWM graduates are not helpful to this project. Please stop trying to do so. --Orange Mike | Talk 17:20, 8 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Congress and state legislators[edit]

Another editor raised the question about notability of members of Congress and state legislators and how long they served in office. One example is Donald Edgar Tewes. Tewes is a lawyer and businessman in Waukesha, Wisconsin. He is active in the Republican Party and is president of a plastic company in Waukesha. Yet his claim to notability was a single term he served in the US House of Representatives 1957-1959 before he was defeated for reeelction. He never served elective office prior to and after his Congressional term. As far as I know Tewes is still alive. Thanks-RFD (talk) 13:13, 22 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That's all under WP:POLITICIAN. If this editor wishes to change the current standards, he/she will need to take it up there. --Orange Mike | Talk 17:21, 8 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
