Klingon culture - It's a good day to die

Not, apparently, to edit.

First use of visual editor...& no visible "preview" function.

Also, 2d-hand laptop with bizarre text formatting that's very hard to read (& I can't figure out how to fix).

User tracking request

This user, the @Mikeimi, speaks rudely and deletes all articles. For example, in the Sepahan Football Club article, it was necessary to expand the article, and I uploaded the article according to the translation of another approved Wikipedia article, but the user tries to delete it. He also accuses me of being a reserve user, while I am an active Wikipedia user. Amita2025 (talk) 12:12, 7 January 2024 (UTC)

hi Adakiko, Can you take a look at this article? Nine (singer) This article found that unregistered IP addresses removed the warning section without modifying it according to the instructions. and most of this information is not true. There is no reliable source. And most of the information added doesn't meet Wikipedia guidelines.

The references are few and mostly come from YouTube. Does it meet the criteria of deception, advertising, impersonation? Because there are people who misunderstand and believe Wikipedia.

I've never seen this type of article before. There's a brand activity that involves live selling products with the brand. I would like to ask, is this part not against the rules?

Life and career does not have reliable references. It is edited by an unregistered user. The network IP address is the same every time. without reference source and there are very few reference sources. Most of the references come from YouTube. I couldn't find any information in Thai or Chinese.

This section of Endorsements is a scam. In 2021, Valentino Beauty did not announce any appointments. He only promotes the brand. But in the article put the position You can find more information. Does it meet the criteria for deception, advertising, or impersonation? Because there are people who misunderstand and believe in Wikipedia, there may be a notification from that brand.

Proof of copying that is identical to the original article according to the revision history below. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/1196914870

I'd like several editors to help me check if Nine (singer) article meets Wikipedia's guidelines, right? I'd like to ask for knowledge. Why don't other articles have this format? And the source of reference must at least be from the media, news agency, and this article does not have that part. MeetHoneyBee (talk) 10:14, 19 January 2024 (UTC)

@MeetHoneyBee: It was unsourced, so I reverted it back to the November 17, 2023 edit. Most of that appears to have been made by a single person from Lima, Peru, whose IP has changed often. That formatting was not up to wp:MoS. It is a wp:BLP, so it needs to meet that. See how long it takes until my edit is reverted. Cheers Adakiko (talk) 10:45, 19 January 2024 (UTC)
Thank you Adakiko, The notice was removed from the same person from Lima, Peru. Use the IP address to revert the edits with your notification to improve. By deleting the announcement but not making changes according to the announcement that informed the article to be updated.

This person appears to have created information in this Nine (singer) article and has disrupted other articles by deleting some information. Add information without references And there will always be a rollback administrator. Editing that disturbs another article and edited and added information only to the article Nine (singer)
The IP addresses I attached are all the same person. This person removed the additional referral notice. Delete without correcting Most articles lack references. Deleting an announcement without editing it is against the rules, right? As I looked at the article's history, Nine (singer) This person has been doing this for a long time, but no users have checked.
I think examining a person is difficult. Because this person from Lima, Peru almost always uses a different IP address to resolve. Every time you edit, delete and add information to another article. will be reversed Then edit again with the new IP address.

Apologies.

@Adakiko, my apologies, I was frustrated that a very senior editor Geno is adding the same material again and again without checking my response. The content regarding shayāṭīn is repeated and it was very obvious to remove the duplicated paragraph. It was just bizarre that it was getting re added. 182.183.50.133 (talk) 06:21, 21 January 2024 (UTC)

Hi @Adakiko! I saw that you were an experienced member on wikipedia and wanted your insight on a matter I am involved with. Here is the link to the talk page [1] (That's the last section on the Khmer name) If you could take a look at it, it would be super nice! Thank you. Pierrevang3 (talk) 01:54, 22 January 2024 (UTC)

@Pierrevang3: it would be best to use a wp:Requests for comment (RfC). Otherwise wp:canvassing impropriety might be claimed. Wow! The second, fourth, sixth, and seventh edits on the talk page were made by now-blocked wp:socks. Cheers Adakiko (talk) 02:50, 22 January 2024 (UTC)
@Adakiko Thanks for the input! The other party just used a RfC, let's see how it will go. Cheers! Pierrevang3 (talk) 12:23, 22 January 2024 (UTC)

Removing content

Hello

Wikipedia typically removes the table showing which combination of third place teams advance into the next round, as we have done for UEFA Euro 2016 and UEFA Euro 2020. Don’t know why I didn’t leave an edit summary but that’s why i removed it as it should go in the page of the knockout rounds

115.43.62.35 (talk) 06:56, 25 January 2024 (UTC)

User:Saagaraludhaati

Hi, user:Saagaraludhaati is removing reliable sources and adding unreliable sources to articles Guntur Kaaram, List of Indian films of 2024 and List of Telugu films of 2024. Can you please do anything. Falimy (talk) 07:18, 28 January 2024 (UTC)

@Falimy: Which source(s) are not reliable? Are they listed as unreliable on this list: WP:RSPSS? If not listed, have they been discussed and considered not RS on wp:RSN? Search the archives on WP:RSPMISSING for such discussions. It would be best if you had a discussion with Saagaraludhaati (talk · contribs) on their talk page. Cheers Adakiko (talk) 07:46, 28 January 2024 (UTC)
The user is not using Independent sources, only using sources which are provided my film makers. They are not providing the correct data. I've discovered with the user. But still citing the sources provided by makers. Thanks. Falimy (talk) 07:50, 28 January 2024 (UTC)
@Falimy: are you referring to Asianet News? Please leave more info. I would rather not have to look for it myself. I see you've left another a message and two of those edit have been undone. Cheers Adakiko (talk) 08:15, 28 January 2024 (UTC)
Asianet News source is from makers. But WP:TOI is unreliable. Falimy (talk) 09:22, 28 January 2024 (UTC)
@Falimy: It appears that there were 14 TOI sources on List of highest-grossing Telugu films before Saagaraludhaati edited. There are 14 TOI sources in the current version. Did Saagaraludhaati add any? You could either add a {{BSN}} tag to those. Do add a reason, maybe mention wp:TOI. Cheers Adakiko (talk)

Wrongly accused

BBC BASIC. I have 5 edits ready to go.

Did no1 OK.

While doing no2 a bot from another editor jumped in and messed edit no2. Have just talked with that editor. Did edit no2 OK.

Your bot jumped in and complained that I did not have references in the lead. But the lead does not need references when the sections supply them. The reason that the sections do not have the references yet is that an editor is not as fast as a bot plus I am now spending all my time with aberrant bots rather than doing edits as planned.

Your bot is in error in this instance even if I was not following up with more as the lead only needs references if contentious aspect. BlueWren0123 (talk) 05:35, 29 January 2024 (UTC)

@BlueWren0123: When you click "Publish changes", that means you are done with the edit and they are there for the world to see. If you don't say anything in the edit summary, it is assumed you are done and everything is properly cited. Before your edit, there were 18 citations, after your edit there were 15. What happened to the other three? BTW: I nor Packerfan386 (talk · contribs) are "bots". Adakiko (talk) 05:43, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
My mistake for thinking your revert so soon after my edit was a bot.
As you are a human. Please take into consideration the frequently given advice to do many smaller edits rather than one big edit.
My edits are not controversial. You instructed me to "discuss them first on the article's talk page". I did that in October 2023 see "More emphasis on BBC Basic language" which you did not read before your criticism.
I have 5 edits ready to go. I am going to proceed now.
I am following advice given. BlueWren0123 (talk) 06:08, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
@BlueWren0123: When did I instruct you to discuss them first on the article's talk page? I don't see anything on your talk page. BTW: I've probably made 3-5k edits since October; unlikely to remember that suggestion. I would recommend an wp:ES of See talk:BBC BASIC#Problems with References which might have avoided most of this.
BTW: referring to Materialscientist (talk · contribs) (an administrator with nearly 2 million edits and is very quick to block) as a vandal as you did in an edit summary here is unlikely to win points. Cheers Adakiko (talk) 06:49, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
Please do not add or significantly change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did with this edit to BBC BASIC. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Adakiko (talk) 05:20, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
That was where. BlueWren0123 (talk) 06:58, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
@BlueWren0123:. My apology! I was looking for something around October... May I suggest using a wp:diff instead of a copy/paste? Such as this: your talk page warning here. See {{diff}}. You can find the ids such as 1200283385 (current id) and 1200278979 (old id) in your browser's URL. Sometimes the current ID is a "prev" or a "next". If there is no current ID, "prev" usually works. I recommend checking it with Show preview and testing the link. I often make an error in formatting. Cheers Adakiko (talk) 07:53, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
Thank you.
I have more to do to BBC BASIC but not today. There is a lot of OR scattered around and Off-topic. I will get to that somewhat later. (Feb/Mar)?
When I do that I will be removing more questionable refs. Just because the number of refs gets less does not automatically indicate things are getting worse.
Because I did the History as 3 files, I need to do some final editing to bring those together and repeat a ref or 2. Will get to that probably this week.
I notice that almost all of your edits are reverts or warnings. This a very necessary part of wikipedia. Is it possible that you may be addicted? BlueWren0123 (talk) 08:24, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
@BlueWren0123: See wp:HONEYPOT. Also, wp:RCP is good for those with short attention spans such as ADHD. Unfortunately, RCP is all too necessary. For a list of more enthusiastic editors, see WP:NOE, specifically wp:NOE#1–1000. I wonder what wp:EUI issue I'm having today? Cheers Adakiko (talk) 10:22, 29 January 2024 (UTC)

DOK.fest München

Hello @Adakiko,
How to properly move a page, if cut&paste is inappropriate?

DOK.fest München is a much more commonly used name. They predominantly use this name in their own communication Linkedin, official hompage, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter etc. Their official postal address is also DOK.Fest:

DOK.fest München, Dachauer Straße 114, D-80636 München

Besides, this festival also goes by other names, like Munich International Documentary Festival, but they always keep the DOK.fest.

Corrections to certain articles.

Hi Adakiko, with reference to your message here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Goose1776#February_2024

I have added a citation to the article (number 41 and also mentioned below) as well as added a section. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32641190/ and https://consang.net/Data-Tables/

The image is on wikimedia commons and I do not have the privilege to edit it. That image is being used in multiple articles. I am a casual read of wikipedia and the process of editing is far too complicated. Please free to edit the image on my behalf. I just want the information to be accurate. Please feel free to leave another message for any further clarification. I probably won't be submitting the request again since I found the process too cumbersome the first time around. Yes, thank you for speaking up. I have made major revisions to an existing article, "John Ryerson (tennis)". They keep get rejected, and the original reinserted on the page. The original is incorrect. The "template" problem is a mystery to me. My edited references look good to me, using the {{...}} format. But when 'published' that section is red lettered. Yes, I am a beginner ate this. Bu this shouldn't be so hard. Please help if you can, or are willing. Thank oyu. Geo Rye (talk) 01:17, 2 March 2024 (UTC)

Huggle

Hi Adakiko, thanks for your great anti-vandalism work! I just wanted to ask a question regarding Huggle, what's it like to use it?

It seems very fast for sure, as I'm often outpaced by Huggle users (and AntiVandal Script too). Is it easy to learn the ins and outs? Can you skip warning levels?

Just curious. — AP 499D25 (talk) 12:01, 22 February 2024 (UTC)

@AP 499D25: Huggle does have its issues. Sometimes it won't startup; not sure why. It occasionally seems to be operating nominally, but then I find it is not reverting or leaving warnings. The diff display changes which is sometimes a give away. If I want to skip warnings, I typically manually template the editor. There is the ability to give general warning of any level. I do like its AIV reporting feature. Just click on a a list of the editor's edits and it adds diffs to the list. The wp:UNAA doesn't work. I wish it would add a user's talk page to my watch list that expires in a week. My watch list gets unmanageable huge, so I have just turned it off. One does need roll-back rights to use Huggle. I recommend it. I also use twinkle a bit too. Cheers Adakiko (talk) 12:08, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
I see! I'll definitely give it a try one day when I feel like changing up my workflow a bit. Thanks! — AP 499D25 (talk) 12:20, 22 February 2024 (UTC)

Hello. You reverted my last edit on Coptic Orthodox Church stating unexplained content removal. I did not remove any content. Can you please revert your edit or otherwise explain? Thank you. Epenkimi (talk) 12:14, 19 March 2024 (UTC)

@Epenkimi: you removed the Arabic translation w/o explanation. Adakiko (talk) 12:16, 19 March 2024 (UTC)
Actually both the Coptic and Arabic translations were put as a reference and not even featuring in the article. I unmasked the reference to actually show what was hidden. I did not feel the Arabic translation was needed in this case since it's not language of the Coptic Orthodox Church, but certainly happy to discuss including it if you feel it's important. Thanks. Rob Kaman

Hi, as you didn’t respond on my talk page I asked it here again. Why did you revert these edits as vandalism per according to you “Manual of Style”? I ask it because I think you made a mistake there. I made the edits you reverted per Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Lead section#Alternative biographical names stating “If a hypocorism (diminutive) that is common in English is often used for the subject in lieu of a given name, it is not inserted into the name or given after it”. 82.174.61.58 (talk) 06:49, 2 April 2024 (UTC)

Because you don't respond on both my talk page and here; and because in my option the edit is according to the Manual of Style as explained, I reverted your edit. 82.174.61.58 (talk) 08:27, 5 April 2024 (UTC)
Adakiko, do you agree that this edit was no vandalism? 82.174.61.58 (talk) 11:33, 9 April 2024 (UTC)

Hello. You reverted my last edit on https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beatriz_Haddad_Maia stating unexplained content removal. I'm sorry, I did that because there's already that info on https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beatriz_Haddad_Maia_career_statistics. I thought that was a repetitive info, so I decided to add a new section, replacing the old one. Once again, I'm sorry. May I add this new section?

My edit doesn't need a citation as the entire page proves. The statement below is obviously false: "Rowling's wealth and tendency to threaten suits has resulted in a situation where "no one will publish anything negative about her" >> the wiki page sources many negative articles about JKR. I could stick every single citation on that page after my edit, but that would only be stupid. Please revert your revert.
