Sorry, but I can't support this for Collaboration of the Week right now. Part of the reason is that I'm less involved with CotW recently in general, working on other things. But the larger reason in this case, is that preparatory work backfires with CotW. The stated purpose of the project is to improve stubs or make articles on topics that don't have articles.

Article Licensing

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 1000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Sasso and stuff

Good job on the expansion. I sometimes wonder why people write these single sentence "articles". But good save. Anyway, if I came across two of your articles in a 30+ article random search then either you've written a hell of a lot or it was quite a coincidence. I guess since they were both football articles it was at least something of a coincidence. I've only come across one of my articles in a random search ever. And out of nearly half a million I thought that was unlikely too. Anyway, yeah, leaving a stub tag on after an article has undergone slow expansion isn't what annoys me. I don't have any problem with it being listed there, it's just that it screwed up the box. The Belize image is on top of some text and the text for the Belize part is written straight down in a line. You've put up a copyright image

I notice your image of the New Forest is actually from BBC Online. Best to delete it I'd suggest, unless you really do have their permission. Gentlemen's Clubs

Hi: I am not sure why you moved Gentlemen's club to Gentlemans' club so I thought that I should explain why I chose that title for the article. The London clubs to which I have belonged have all called their former incarnations "Gentlemen's clubs". Similarly, the equivalent private clubs for women called themselves "Ladies' clubs" (cf the New Cavendish Club]. A quick check of the various forms on Google shows a fairly even spread between the two phrases but I have not analysed the associations of this name: for example, I know that various strip joints call themselves "Gentleman's clubs". Anthony Lejeune, who wrote a definitive book on the subject, called them gentlemen's clubs.

Either way, "Gentlemans' club" is grammatically incorrect. Please may I revert to the "Gentlemen's clubs" title and restore the various links to that name?

Flag of Norway

Hello! Thanks for your note. Unfortunately, you are mistaken: the Norwegian flag(s) I uploaded have blue in them, not black; specifically: R,G,B=0,0,101. Different monitors may render colours differently (e.g., too light/too dark) and presents a particular challenge when exhibiting materials on-screen that are normally printed or stitched (as with flags, for example); you may want to check your monitor settings. Guantanamo Bay detainees

Are you still interested in the nationalities of the Guantanamo Bay detainees. I started an article List of Guantanamo Bay detainees 16 days ago.

A malicious vandal put it into the copyright violation queue. Grrr. But the claim is so bogus I trust the administrators will dismiss it.

The article still points to my sources. And you can use the history mechanism to see our wikipedia version. There are approximately 60 detainees or former detainees who have articles devoted to them. -- Geo Swan 21:03, 14 October 2005 (UTC)

Hi,

I realize you have made changes to "see also" to all the central banks in Europe. I found that you added links to currencies, but with the unit capitalized. Currency units should be lower case because they are not proper name, just like you don't capitzalize "meter". Also, you added euro to some of the central banks in the eurozone, eurozone to some, and none to the others. Thanks for your comments on my West Lancs League club articles. Actually there is a method in my madness. This season I have set myself a target to watch a home league game at each of the 16 Premier Division clubs. So far I've been to 10, and subsequently I have written up an article for each club. It seems to be a common typo actually so it makes sense to leave it as a redirect anyway. For creating the railway stations, i think all you need to do in the least is include something about the location, what serves it and possibly the layout. Russians in Georgia

First, here's some statistics (all the Soviet censuses) for Georgia proper, South Ossetia and Abkhazia. It's in Russian but you shouldn't have any difficulties with these tables (Russians are "русские" in Russian, just find appropriate columns).

Georgia

Ethnic Russians appeared in Georgia in significant numbers after Georgia became part of the Russian Empire in 1803 (Kartli and Kakheti) - 1878 (Ajara). There were 79082 and 19273 people who indicated Russian as their mother language in Tiflis Governorate [1] and Kutais Governorate [2] respectively. Dukhobors have to be mentioned as well.

As you can see from the census data the Russian population had risen from 83 to the maximum of 319 thousand between 1926 and 1959 and then began to decline slowly to 266 thousand in 1989. Migration and lower birth rates were the main reasons of this decline.

Obviously, many Russians left Georgia during the 1990s due to economic hardships (mainly, imho) and other reasons.

Abkhazia

A great part of its indigenous population emigrated to Turkey after (see Muhajir (Caucasus)) so a lot of people of many ethnicities were settled there. Russians were among them(source - ТРАПШ Н.А. РУССКАЯ ОБЩИНА АБХАЗИИ: ИСТОРИЯ И СОВРЕМЕННОСТЬ. СОБРАНИЕ ТРУДОВ "ЮЖНОРОССИЙСКОЕ ОБОЗРЕНИЕ", # 10, 2002) and made up 2% of the 100,000 population of Abkhazia by 1897. Here Russian population also rose between 1926 and 1970 and declined thereafter. Post-independence decline was particularly steep due to the War in Abkhazia.

Hammersmith tube stations

As the crow flies, they are about 200 ft apart door to door, although the positions of the pedestrian crossings on the broadway makes it more like 450 ft on foot. See here for a close-up map. Table in European long-distance paths article

Hi! I just added a table to the article European long-distance paths, and it is missing an image! Paths E1, E2, and E4 - E11 all have images, which (though I'm not sure) you seem to have been the creator of. Now I assume if you made images for the rest, you wouldn't just leave E3 hanging; however, I just can't seem to find its image! Wondering if you'd have any clue to its whereabouts, or know how to make another similar-looking image so that it would fit appropriately into the table? United Hospitals - clarification of importance sought

Hi. I'm a bit confused by the information that you've added in the first paragraph of the London medical schools articles saying they are a member of the United Hospitals. From its prominence I'd assume this was an important piece of information: yet I've worked at one of those schools for rather a long time and never heard the expression. The United Hospitals article doesn't really help me - it tells me they "are known" as that but not by whom, nor what the organization actually is or does, what its status is, and so on. It would be really good to have this clarified so that it's possible to understand why the fact is important enough to be almost the first thing we're told about any school. Can you help out, please? Hi. Thanks very much for the reply. No, I'm not involved with sports at my place of work and my social involvement hasn't strayed into these areas! I'm guessing, though, that I could quite possibly ask all the employees of my Dept what it means and draw a blank: maybe one or two might know (medical profs perhaps??) but I suspect not many. I'm not there at the moment but it might be amusing to try it. Anyway, I'm most grateful for the information but it does leave me still feeling that the lead paragraph is perhaps too prominent a place for it: it's (I feel) an interesting fact but not a vital one concerning the, er, core business of these places, and while I'm sure it should be included, I honestly think the lead isn't the place. Having said that, I've moved it from the first instance I saw and I really don't have the stomach/argumentive capacity/whatever for a big campaign on this - life's too short! - so I think I'll leave the others to take their chance and see how it goes.
