The infobox problem[edit]

Steven (Editor) In an academy there are effectively two principals- the executive principal and the head of school. Their relative importance varies academy by academy- and year by year. In a start up it is the executive principal (with Leigh academies refered to as the CEO) who takes the lead role and acts as head, when it is established he spends less time on site. With the Leigh academies and their small school within a school approach it is difficult to see what the role of the headteacher is.

Taking the infobox school as it stands there is a field |head and also a field |principal but I saw render in the wrong order (cant replicate it now though), then by chance I saw this fudge being used in Leigh UTC and it works. The intention may be to use |R_head for religous head but it renders correctly for schools in multi-academy trusts. After seeing your concerns, I rooted around the source code and found labels50 to label65 and discovered this problem had been foreseen, but as often in WP the documentation was obscure. The field |principal_label gives the correct positions for head and principal- and allow you to call the executive principal, CEO! If you agree with my solution- we can work up some more accessible documentation. --ClemRutter (talk) 02:29, 31 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
