Information icon Hello, RootCapitalTeam. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Root Capital, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. 81.187.192.168 (talk) 19:10, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

May 2024[edit]

Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because it has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  • Provide a new username.

To do this, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 19:21, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:
Hello! I'm a Marketing and Communications staff member at Root Capital. I was asked to update our Wikipedia page as much of the information is out of date (for example: we do not refer to our client areas as "poor", we no longer use the three step approach, our address has changed, etc.). I am happy to request a non-employee of Root Capital review and update the page. I understand that as an employee, I have a conflict of interest with updating the page myself. I would appreciate being unlocked so that I can make that edit request on the talk page of the Root Capital page. To be perfectly honest, I am unlikely to make any other Wikipedia contributions or edits in the future, but if I do, they will be more around areas of personal interest and expertise, such as books/literature. I'm not sure how to check if a username is taken, but I'm suggesting a change to alphabetsoupneverstops123. Any other numbers would also work for me. Thank you for your time.

Administrators should consider discussing any unblock with the blocking administrator (see the blocking policy).

Administrator use only:

If you ask the blocking administrator to comment on this request, please place {{subst:Unblock on hold-notification | 1=RootCapitalTeam}} on the administrator's talk page. Then replace this template with the following:

{{unblock-un on hold | 1=blocking administrator | 2=alphabetsoupneverstops123 | 3=Hello! I'm a Marketing and Communications staff member at Root Capital. If you accept the unblock request, replace this template with the following:

If you decline the unblock request, replace this template with the following, replacing {{subst:Decline reason here}} with any specific rationale. If you do not edit the text after "decline=", a default reason why the request was declined will be inserted.

{{unblock-un reviewed | 1=alphabetsoupneverstops123 | reason=Hello! I'm a Marketing and Communications staff member at Root Capital. While you wait for your unblock request to be evaluated, please look at Wikipedia:Edit requests. This is the proper procedure to follow for someone such as yourself, when you have a conflict of interest.

Wikipedia has little interest in what a company/organization wishes to say about itself. Whatever changes you propose must be cited to reliable sources that are independent of Root Capital. Root Capital's own website is a primary source; it be allowed to verify the most basic facts and figures, but little else. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 17:41, 14 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I would add that as an employee you are a paid editor and must make the Terms of Use-required paid editing disclosure once unblocked. 331dot (talk) 20:16, 14 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
