Messy Color Coding[edit]

  • I find this pattern where some of the color coding is on the Artist and some on the Coaches to be messy.
It would make much more sense to grey out the blanks on the Coach columns,
it would be more consistent and cleaner.
I don't care if you have to shame the artists that didn't get chosen,
what matters to me is that you be consistent with the coloring so it doesn't look unbalanced.
    Like this:

Episode 1 (February 23)
The four coaches performed "Are You Gonna Go My Way".

Order Artist Age Hometown Song Coach's and contestant's choices
Adam Pharrell Christina Blake
1 Sarah Potenza 34 Smithfield, Rhode Island "Stay with Me"
2 Lowell Oakley 19 Durham, North Carolina "Don't Get Around Much Anymore"
3 Rob Taylor 22 Donaldsonville, Louisiana "I Want You"
4 Ivonne Acero 16 Aguila, Arizona "Try"
5 Cody Wickline 20 Beckley, West Virginia "He Stopped Loving Her Today"
6 Treeva Gibson 16 Frederick, Maryland "Young and Beautiful"
7 Mason Henderson N/A Orange Beach, Alabama "Riptide"
8 Meghan Linsey 28 Nashville, Tennessee "Love Hurts"
9 Joshua Davis 37 Traverse City, Michigan "I Shall Be Released"
10 Bryce Sherlow 17 Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey "Cool Kids"
11 Sawyer Fredericks 15 Fultonville, New York "I'm a Man of Constant Sorrow"
Come to think of it, why pale yellow? Has anyone considered maybe a matching pale green? 24.79.36.94 (talk)
I agree that yellow looks gross, and I actually think red would work better because that's the show's color, but it's been yellow for so long so.
However, I disagree with you graying out the blanks on only no-chair turns, because if you're gonna do that then just do it for every blanks, but there'd be no point of that and it'd look messier. The no-chair turns' names, ages, and hometowns, are grayed out to signify that they are not one of the 48 contestants so it's completely reasonable. ~ Totaldramaman (talk · contribs) 22:44, 10 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Timestamp when judges turn[edit]

Can we include the timestamp when each judge turned? I think it would be interested to see if judges who turn earlier get picked more often. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Amenghra (talkcontribs) 04:12, 5 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Anthony's disqualification/quit/whatever it may be[edit]

How the hell are we gonna handle that on the Teams section? This situation is completely unprecedented. ~ Totaldramaman (talk · contribs) 22:13, 22 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

April 27 & 28: "all" coaches?[edit]

I realize it is merely an issue of semantics, but with regards to the statement 'A reunion of all coaches...', it can't truly be all if, as later stated, Shakira will not be there due to her recent childbirth. Therefore, I propose that it be amended to read 'A reunion of nearly all coaches...' or similar, but I did not want to make such a change unilaterally, without bringing it up for discussion. What say you? 1980fast (talk) 03:24, 22 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Wasted Space and hard to see blocks[edit]

Someone who obviously doesn't have their head on straight reverted an edit I made to the elimination chart sections overall chart to make the team/coach columns the same larger size so that they are more easily visible. There isn't any reason the overall chart column can't be the same size as the team's chart team color column for identifying the team, considering the big waste of space that's on the overall charts columns. The first column on both of the charts below: It's a ridiculous reversion, and I won't edit it back because having an edit war over something so trivial is dumb; They should be the same size for easy viewing, and that's all. This place is getting worse and worse for this kind of nonsense.

Those of us who are old and losing our vision have difficulty enough without these kinds of editorial nonsense as well. It ain't broke, don't fix it. Absurdist1968 (talk) 01:14, 6 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A wee bit of improved specificity for the top six[edit]

Okay, so there's clearly a "Mother's Day" selection from each artist, but from the looks of it, the other choice is not necessarily a "Coach's choice," what with Megan and Kimberly doing songs that have been regular parts of their live sets prior to their involvement with this show. Absurdist1968 (talk) 01:19, 5 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Another petty semantical nitpick[edit]

The use of the metaphoric "going home," when the top twenty often leave L.A. for show-related excursions, few of the contestants actually "go home" before the end of the competition. In other words, being eliminated from the competition during the live rounds is not the same as "going home," even if it's the phrase that the host uses. Remembering that the entire top twenty will be performing in the finale and that the nine singers eliminated in the live rounds prior to the finale will be singing in the wild card, avoiding the inaccuracy of "going home" seems kinder to the contestants, especially given that contestants who didn't make it to the playoffs simply didn't return to Los Angeles after the Knockout rounds. It's also more consistent with what's used in the progress tables. Absurdist1968 (talk) 00:58, 6 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Something to consider for next season (don't bother with it right now)[edit]

Perhaps, in remembrance of season 7's Rebekah Samarin, we might consider adding a note to the relevant tables where performances are reduced to montages. Maybe not that big a deal in the sense of overall relevance, because it might be footnoting a footnote in the cosmic scheme of things, but given the level of detail undertaken already, it could certainly establish a pattern of problematic editing on the producer's/network's part. Absurdist1968 (talk) 06:56, 6 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This was corrected as I submitted the topic.

Results of the finals[edit]

As I write this on May 14th, there is a section with the results of the finals that do not air (live as far as I knew), in 4 and (then results show) 6 days from now. Is this some editor using a magic 8 ball to get the results? This is not WWE, the results are not known ahead of time, it is not scripted television (well it is scripted, often to get close to the results they want, but not rigged). 209.99.213.91 (talk) 01:13, 15 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Who the hell made this a semi-blocked page?[edit]

the one who made this a semi blocked page sucks. fuck you because you can't edit properly and why meghan linsey's name have a link on too many names where she is mentioned? what does this mean? to make people not to vote meghan cause she's already an artist? hey editor fuck you ../.. use your mind. — Preceding unsigned comment added by IamJoma Z (talkcontribs) 12:11, May 17, 2015‎ (UTC–4)

Anthony Riley's suicide[edit]

Some people may not think this should be mentioned here, but I do, as this is really the only WP page concerning him. Anthony Riley committed suicide on June 2, 2015. It should also be noted that he left the show to enter rehab for substance abuse for a few weeks, and The Voice footed the bill, according to him, although it is unclear if that was the reason he killed himself. I think adding it here can be done respectfully to both him and the show. — Wyliepedia 05:05, 7 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Pecuiliar edit changes entire format of page[edit]

Why did someone edit the page to where the entire progress of the show is under the section titled "Teams"? "Teams" implies just that: the teams. Not the rounds, etc. Hopefully someone can revert whatever dipshit error caused this. Likely same one who made the page semi blocked. I think they also completely deleted tbd team table showing teams after the end of Blinds to end of season with saves, eliminations, team transfers, etc. Please fix. I don't know how and don't want to make a problem even worse than before I started. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.142.121.72 (talk) 10:21, 3 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
