Running times, versions, TCM controversy[edit]

The version I recently saw on TCM was 61 minutes long (despite the longer running time TCM claims on their web page) and ended with Peter Rodgers Organization logo. It was black-and-white with some odd color-fringing like you might find in a cheap lens with chromatic aberration.

Some time ago TCM apparently aired a version from National Film Museum, which had sepia tint, but also actually had shots from entirely different film(s) inserted into it, giving it a longer running time by several minutes. TCM stopped it after complaints, and presumably doesn't do business with National Film Museum any more. [1]

Someone must have a list of the various legit (and junk) versions of this film. Can you please add such a list? 24.57.239.43 (talk) 06:15, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Gleib or Glieb?[edit]

This article alternates spellings throughout. Geniuswaitress (talk) 19:56, 18 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It's now fixed as Gleib, which is the spelling in all print sources checked. Ewulp (talk) 00:31, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
