In "Countries formerly with Pizza Hut restaurants", you should add Argentina (1983-1996). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.235.192.142 (talk) 16:55, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Seems to have been  Done, although I note that whoever added it in has put (1994-1998) -- Alexandr Dmitri (Александр Дмитрий) (talk) 10:47, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

Drivers Carrying Weapons?

The section on Criticism/Controversy mentions that "For these reasons, Pizza Hut has drawn criticism for its policy of disallowing employees from carrying defensive weapons while making deliveries." This needs to be sourced. Weakerthan (talk) 02:50, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

"A Pizza Hut spokeswoman, Patty Sullivan, confirmed that company policy includes a ban on carrying weapons."

Diction

I noticed the diction of this article seemed to be a bit simplistic. I upped a few sections, if anyone else would take some time to improving it. Pizza Hut rocks. INsynchronicity —Preceding unsigned comment added by INsynchronicity (talkcontribs) 17:02, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

Headquarters photo

A headquarters photo would be great WhisperToMe (talk) 17:21, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

I reverted the edit by 92.0.3.5. for a couple reasons....the Pasta Hut logo is not representative of Pizza Hut's current logo since the company's official name is still Pizza Hut and the Pasta Hut promotion was a temporary change. Secondly, there is no need for the Pasta Hut logo to be placed in the company infobox as the company's official logo. Pasta Hut already has a designated subsection which already features the Pasta Hut logo. I don't see the necessity to have it in the article twice. Should it show up again, I will remove it. Or does anyone here have a different take on this?Toni S. (talk) 13:19, 14 February 2009 (UTC)

Pizza Mutt

Pizza Mutt (and his gang of mates) used to exist in the 90's (and maybe before and after?) in the UK, though I noticed his disappearence ages ago. He was also a white cartoon dog (with sunglasses?) though, unlike Australia's version. I don't know much more than that though; and unfortunately but understadably, never kept anything from Pizza Hut from when I was a kid. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kurtle (talkcontribs) 00:05, 12 March 2009 (UTC) --Oops....His name was Pizza Pooch, his gang were the Hut Mutts. I don't know exactly what about them wants adding to the artice; or if they're still used, just of a smaller scale or what. --Kurtle (talk) 00:26, 12 March 2009 (UTC) Pizza Mutt and his friends were featured in a updated comic given out to with children meals. I used to get these when I was a kid. They had toys to give out and coloring in pages with puzzles. 98.232.104.186 (talk) 05:43, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

Hong Kong

Pizza Hut HK was not owned by the us company, instead a British-HK company, could someone dig out the source? And possibility related to Hong Kong Land. Matthew_hk tc 01:17, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

A good deal of this article reads like an advert. There's way too much coverage of the "pasta hut" publicity stunt, and nowhere near enough about the history and practices of the company. I appreciate that there are sections about health concerns and dangers to delivery drivers, but advertisement plus criticism does not equal balance. I actually came here to find out what was on the pizzas, as I heard most of the cheese on their pizzas was actually imitation cheese. Does anyone know if this is true? Name change

The link [1] provided for the change from Pizza Hut to The Hut is speculation: "Pizza Hut to change its name?

The iconic restaurant chain is reportedly set to slice pizza from its name in a bid to spice up its image."AlexandrDmitri (talk) 21:48, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

Just spent half an hour changing erratic references to "The Pizza Hut" and "The Hut" back to "Pizza Hut". Seriously, this was a mess and inconsistent. If a new name is officially announced I'll happily convert all references to The Hut consistently.AlexandrDmitri (talk) 11:11, 20 June 2009 (UTC)
Note - per the reference link provided - "However, contrary to earlier reports, the iconic chain won't be changing its name, a Pizza Hut spokesman said Friday. The boxes and some store signs will say "The Hut." Others will retain the Pizza Hut name." Some may recall the April Fools joke a year or two ago where the name was changed to Pasta Hut - for about one day. Caused an uproar in some markets as folks wanted their pizza. So agreed - lets not get ahead of ourselves. --T-dot ( Talk/contribs ) 11:19, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
Thanks T-dot. I note that MSN Money has completely rewritten the article (whilst retaining the same link) since I visited it on Friday.AlexandrDmitri (talk) 11:50, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
PS - I wonder if we should add "divisions" to the infobox to cover Pizza Hut Express and The Hut - ? This would use the model of Lincoln and Mercury brands under Ford Motor Company, since that appears to be approximately what Pizza Hut intends. Or rather like the divisions listed under Yum! Brands, including A&W, KFC, Taco bell, etc. I was looking for a "brands" line item at Template:Infobox Company - but didn't find it - just "divisions", which just seems slightly awkward. --T-dot ( Talk/contribs ) 11:57, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
Very good question. Technically, Pizza Hut is a subsidiary of Yum! Brands. Personally, the term Division doesn't seem inappropriate, defining it as "[a] division of a business entity is a portion of that business that operates under a different name".AlexandrDmitri (talk) 13:00, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

In foodservice parlance, they are introducing a new "concept" to their portfolio. It is similar to the "Whopper Bar" Burger King is rolling out. They will continue to utilize the same products in these restaurants, but do so in a different environment. On a side note, the two major industry trade magazines carry nothing about this (Nation's Restaurant News and QSR Magazine). --Jeremy (blah blah) 19:36, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

I don't know if Pizza Hut's article name should be changed to "The Hut", but certainly change the logo because Pizza Hut stores all over the United States already have signs showing the new "Hut" logo. 69.255.16.132 (talk) 19:15, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

See discussion above for the rationale for keeping the current article name. As for the logo, I will leave that for other editors to comment. Regards -- Alexandr Dmitri (Александр Дмитрий) (talk) 20:17, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
The official website still uses the logo we have in this article. That's good enough for me. Powers T 20:47, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
The company known as Pizza Hut is still Pizza Hut and the company logo has not changed. If you are seeing "the Hut" logo on stores, these stores are the ones that have been converted to the new concept. You can include the new "hut" logo in the article as such, but the main corporate log is not changing and we should not change the one in the article. --Jeremy (blah blahI did it!) 20:49, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

Italy

Hello, I was wonder if we should add a section to say that Pizza hut is in Italy or not?

(86.170.160.255 (talk) 23:26, 29 July 2009 (UTC))

Absolutely, I would suggest Pizza_Hut#International_variations with, or course, references from reliable sources.-- Alexandr Dmitri (Александр Дмитрий) (talk) 00:40, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

I've also discovered that Switzerland did have Pizza huts once, but all closed down in 2004. Maybe we should update this fact for here?

Pizza Hut history dead link

Now that the site is in Flash, the link is dead. The only way to access the information is to go to [2] and click on the segment for 1958. Would that be an improvement on the current dead link? -- Alexandr Dmitri (Александр Дмитрий) (talk) 19:09, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

Preemptive comment: yes, I am aware of WP:ELNO and Flash sites - seeking opinion. Regards -- Alexandr Dmitri (Александр Дмитрий) (talk) 07:04, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
Found the story in HTML on the Australian site [3] -- Alexandr Dmitri (Александр Дмитрий) (talk) 08:29, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

Foreign language logos of Pizza Hut

The Cyrillic Russian logo is on the page (I note not on Commons). I have found two sources for an Arabic version:

  • Flicker [4]
  • Corporate site Middle East [5]

I've yet to delve into the murky waters of use of images. Views? -- Alexandr Dmitri (Александр Дмитрий) (talk) 10:35, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

Hong Kong

I've updated the section to read Hong Kong and Macao, per ref. I've removed:

  • in the basement of The Landmark (demolished in 2000 with the Landmark East portion of the complex)[citation needed]. (happy to put it back in if anyone can find a reference)
  • It currently has 54 restaurants throughout Hong Kong, 34 being "express" restaurants and 20 being full service restaurants. (reference indicates 80 restaurants in new perimeter)

Adapted:

  • Pizza Hut Hong Kong is notable for a menu on which half of the pizza selections that have a thousand island sauce base. (slight exaggeration)

Removed:

Happy to discuss -- Alexandr Dmitri (Александр Дмитрий) (talk) 16:59, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

Recipes & Eagle Boys (In NZ at least)

Pizza Hut (well, Restaurant brands) bought all of the Eagle Boys stores in NZ back in 2000, immediately afterward the Pizza Hut pizza's recipes all changed to be much more like the Eagle Boys Pizzas... does this warrant a mention?Winterdenni (talk) 13:05, 16 August 2009 (UTC) clint is a beast —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.239.192.84 (talk) 15:08, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

Pizza Hut is an amazing pizza place. The only thing that is bad about it is that the owners are planning on taking over the world!! The only way they can be stopped from using their hot melted cheese to kill us all is if we get Pappa Johns (aka the superman of pizza) to help us. So please people, I ask you with all my heart, please convince Pappa Johns for their help. Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 168.170.198.40 (talk) 13:59, 10 March 2010 (UTC)

Australia? Rubbish!

The Australia part of the Pasta Hut sub-section is appallingly written. I can't make much sense of it. The statistics at the end make no mathematical sense, and the single reference link is dead. Deletion looks like a good option to me. HiLo48 (talk) 09:31, 30 April 2010 (UTC)

Request for Cleanup

This article has some sections that are poorly written and lacking in coherent information, giving the article an overall disjointed feel. The "Product" section in particular has grammatical errors and needs work. Could someone with knowledge of the topic please clean it up?

Warwickshire Pizza Hut Now Closed

The Pizza Hut in Stratford-upon-Avon (Warwickshire), one of the pictures, is now closed. Pizza Hut have opened a new store in Stratford on a retail park away from the centre. Should there really be a picture of a store which is no longer there? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chrisloader (talkcontribs) 12:26, 13 June 2010 (UTC)

Yes, if there is am appropriate caption reflecting the fact that it no longer exists. Otherwise, no. HiLo48 (talk) 12:28, 13 June 2010 (UTC)

The image titled 'New Pizza Hut logo that in use in Southeast Asia' is actually the logo in use in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium and possibly other European countries; not just Southeast Asia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chrisloader (talkcontribs) 18:45, 17 September 2010 (UTC)
