Scouting Low‑importance

Age Range Query[edit]

Different documentation states different age ranges for each stage of the award... can any one clarify what the definite age ranges are for Gaisce - The President's Award OisinisiO (talk) 12:08, 18 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Gaisce (talkpage transfer from Murry1975)[edit]

Why did you once again revert the Gaisce article? It covers the whole country, not just the Republic. A ref has been provided, yet you still replaced Ireland with Republic of Ireland. Why? 79.97.64.240 (talk) 22:17, 2 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No. In Northern Ireland The Duke of Edinburgh's Award has a Joint Agreement with Gaisce - The President's Award which enables young people who complete their programme to have a choice of Award certification: a Duke of Edinburgh's Award Certificate, a Gaisce - The President's Award Certificate or an International Award Certificate". "In 2005 under an agreement, initiated by the Award patron in Ireland and the UK, and brokered by the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award International Award Association, Gaisce became available to young people in Northern Ireland under the Joint Award initiative." - in other words, the Award is given to anybody in Ireland, north or south, who qualifies. "under the Joint Award initiative", they themselves as linked ablove say that someone in NI cant do it, they do the DoE and can choose which cert they get, which is the paragraph you have removed, with citations from both Gaisce and DoE. Murry1975 (talk) 09:23, 3 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
