New Climate Emergency Declarations (for any jurisdiction)[edit]

If you notice any new climate declarations that are not on the only global list (Cedamia) please contact them and let them know so they can update their data. I have found a few missing data points in their list while making the Australia and UK declaration pages. This will help us keep information up to date not just across Wikipedia but across the interwebs. If you don't have time to contact them that's okay just reply in this thread and I will contact them on your behalf just leave the details of the missing data below.

a map?[edit]

Hello! What do yo think about including a map that shows the countries that have declarate the emergency to ilustrate the article?--Javiermes (talk) 14:20, 27 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Javiermes: I like that idea. The only issue is that very few countries have actually declared a climate emergency - the majority of administrations that have done so are cities or regions, which is hard to put on a map. However, if a world map was to be created with the 6 countries and dependencies marked on it, I'd fully support this.

Maybe in the future more countries would join. This map would be useful in the rest of wikipedias that has this article.--Javiermes (talk) 17:07, 28 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Javiermes: Hello :) Due to the amount of local declarations I think we have this page be the main page then create individual pages for different countries prioritising those with the most declarations first. I have submitted an Australian one for review and am waiting for it to be approved. They have done this for other pages that track legislative/political movements for example the legalisation of same sex marriage page has multiple pages for individual states and nations. @Javiermes: Hello! Great news the Australian one is up and I am working on the UK one now which is also up. It would be cool to have maps in these pages that show the cities/jurisdictions at a state and local level it would really lift the quality of the articles. I am unsure how to make these maps but I will continue making localised pages for different countries starting with places that have more declarations. actions paragraph[edit]

I removed the following text to be improved before being reinserted

Among the actions planned by the administrations involved are the ban on the sale of diesel or gasoline cars as of 2030^[2], the promotion of renewable energies, the expansion of electric vehicle charging networks, the prohibition of oil and gas boilers, the prohibition of single-use plastic objects^[3] and the planting of trees^[4].

The problem with this text is that it implies that each of these actions is being done by each of the emergecy-declaring jurisdictions. This appears to not be true and certainly isn't supported by the references. For example, some of these RSs are just about Ireland. Suggest that these sources and text about actions be worked into text specific to the jurisdiction in question. NewsAndEventsGuy (talk) 19:47, 26 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Let´s improve the table[edit]

I think "partial" is not the best word. In my opinion it would be better "Some jurisdictions" for that countries where there are CEDs in some towns and "European declaration" or something like that for the european countries.
