Untitled[edit]

can bill clinton be added to this list, since gerald ford shares similar family history --Ageo020 22:28, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Another adoptee to add: Sarah McLachlan[edit]

I am rusty at editing and don't want to screw up the page, but thought it was worthwhile to change. Erin go braghless (talk) 19:28, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sarah McLachlan is not American. --Saforrest (talk) 21:29, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Criteria[edit]

What is an adoptee? Certiainly, a step-parent adoption - most of those on the list - is very different from other types of adoption. Just because it occurs under the same set of laws does not make the experience of these people similar enough that they should be grouped together as "adoptees."

I suggest breaking the article into a table with two sections:

Unrelated Adoptions Adoptions where both parents have no biological relationship to the adoptee.

Related Adoptions Adoptions where one parent has a biological relationship to the adoptee. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tobit2 (talkcontribs) 05:45, 17 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

New Organization System[edit]

The pages: "People associated with adoption," "adoptees," etc. Have so many sub-categories it is unbearably confusing. I will start to re-organize these pages, moving first to the adoptees and removing the country designation. I will instead put all people in two categories:

Adoptees (Unrelated Family) Adoptees (Related Family) Tobit2 (talk) 22:24, 23 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
