Include largest cities and towns in Chicago metro area[edit]

Since the scope of the project includes Chicago metro area all the counties, largest cities, and largest towns given within the Template:Chicagoland should be included in the list. I've added all the counties and plan to add the largest cities and towns as I get time. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pknkly (talkcontribs) 20:50, 5 October 2009 (UTC) [reply]

Yes, I saw the message and left a statement. I sent a response to the editor who questioned the two articles. I believe the editor did not know that the scope of the Chicago Project covers the geographic area defined within template:Chicagoland. Pknkly (talk) 22:59, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Chicago Wikiprojects apparent plans for World Domination[edit]

Your instructions to Zenobot need some SERIOUS revision. I spent an hour last night going thru this latest round of tagging, and was appalled at the mess you instructed the bot to make. It would seem that the bot was simply tagging every article that linked to chicago (and in some case was tagging articles without even that tenuous connection to the area).

If you look closely, you will see that the bot was tagging locations in Colorado, New Mexico, California, Iowa, Texas, and Wisconsin. While Da Mayor and his evil spawn may have held hopes of extending their power base beyond the city limits, I don't think even they would have included The San Francisco Bay area or Amarillo, Texas in their definition of the "chicagoland" area.

Please limit your project to the immediate chicago area, stopping northward at the Wisconsin state line, westward at the Fox River, and find comparable, suitable, DEFINABLE boundaries for your eastern and southern boundaries. The vagueness of your projects boundaries is a subject you MUST address. WuhWuzDat 14:52, 3 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
