A list of Wikimedia projects acn be found is a typo. 0xDeadbeef→∞ (talk to me) 04:37, 25 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see this by searching onwiki or in the UTRS GitHub repo. Any other details? –Novem Linguae (talk) 05:17, 25 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

For Other Langages[edit]

Do we have feasiblity to extend this system to other language wikipedias? If so what are the procedures to adopt it in their languages? -Neechalkaran (talk) 05:30, 25 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Neechalkaran: UTRS 3.0 is an active work in progress, and subject to active grant funding. I'm hoping to have it done by the end of march, in which the process will develop for other language wikipedias - it's just the biggest hurdle, the ability to translate the interface to begin with is missing at the moment. Once that is complete, there will be more for this as many wikis have asked for it. If you are looking for an early start, a large community RFC with consensus to use UTRS when it starts will be required before I engage any other wiki. -- Amanda (she/her) 05:12, 27 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@AmandaNP Thanks for the response. We from Tamil Wikipedia community, one of the larger community in south Asia, would like to start with it. Please let us know once it is availble. Then I will get community consensus on this. -Neechalkaran (talk) 07:47, 27 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Another joe-job[edit]

Noting that UTRS appeal #86181 appears to be a joe-job. Someone other than the claimed user made the request. That's not in itself that unusual, what's strange here is that the request itself didn't fit the usual behaviour of our more common LTAs who troll UTRS. I base this claim on both CU data and on User_talk:Yamla#Your_message_on_my_talk_page comments on my talk page. So, noting for the record. We already expect to have to be dubious of unverified UTRS requests. --Yamla (talk) 22:02, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Ip blocked[edit]

I've never used wiki to create an edit but my IP is blocked how do I fix this? 212.250.119.12 (talk) 17:39, 7 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there. Looks like this IP is being detected as a VPN. Here's the exact block message. {{blocked p2p proxy|ip=212.250.119.12|isp=NORTHUMBERLAND TYNE WEAR NHS}} <!-- API-confirmed P2P VPN -->. Looks like account creation is blocked too. Anyway, if you can make your edit with your VPN off or on a different IP, that's probably the way forward here. –Novem Linguae (talk) 19:46, 7 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

"Notice: You do not have the necessary permissions to view appeals on any queues."[edit]

I just logged into UTRS for the first time in quite a while. It looks different than I remember, and I got the above notice at the top of the page. I looked in my account settings and found the following entry dated 2023-12-09: Action: modified user - enwiki: -admin, -checkuser, -oversight, -user, Reason: automatic permission check. It is true that I lost some permisssions around that time, but I'm certainly still an admin. If I'm reading this right UTRS thinks I am not. Perhaps the rename is confusing it somehow? Pinging all tool admins, if I'm reading this right the last permisssion check says I don't even exist. AmandaNP — Deepfriedokra — JJMC89 — TParis — 5 albert square: Just Step Sideways from this world ..... today 17:38, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Arg. I don't have that level of access. AmandaNP does for sure, though. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 18:08, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Just Step Sideways: That log is dated 2023, you just needed to self reload permissions because the system detected your username change and never reloaded them. That should be part of the rename process though, I get it, we just haven't had very many admins rename, so the QA is low on that. I have reloaded them, and your flags are present :) -- Amanda (she/her) 18:59, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks You! The interface for permisssions was not something I had ever even looked at before so I wasn't real sure what I should do. Just Step Sideways from this world ..... today 00:09, 18 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
