Focus on categories[edit]

Hi Lane -- I agree categorizing events is important -- and I'm probably more guilty than most of using the wrong categories (quite frankly I find categories annoying and probably need to sit down with someone to really get them under my belt). So this page seems almost disproportionately skewed towards categories. And the reality is that the most time and labor intensive issue with event pages, is the content and adding the details to the various calendars, etc.

Also, in an effort to not duplicate efforts, I have been talking about and more importantly -- moving towards setting up various templates for the different types of events, so we could have and share (key point) these.
At the event this past weekend, a PDF event document was almost revolutionary in helpfulness. Here it is: Black Life Matters Editathon 02-06-2016.pdf
Would like an active discussion and your thoughts (and anyone else who is interested and wants to chime in) on all of this. All the best, -- Erika aka BrillLyle (talk) 22:40, 9 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It appears that this is not a page for event documentation in the way that I am thinking about it -- it's more about categories. Maybe it should be renamed Categorizing meetups? or something similar? -- BrillLyle (talk) 22:54, 9 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
