Who can attend?[edit]

This is a board retreat. Traditionally this would be an intimate setting for the current board. However, the Wiki NYC board works closely with some non-board members. I am one of those non-board members who participates in chapter governance. There are some other non-board members like me. Also, there are perhaps 10 individuals who have served as program organizers for Wiki NYC event series or ongoing projects, and who are likely to have input into Wiki NYC governance.

This retreat should be for experienced people who already know quite a bit about what Wiki NYC does. However, does anyone have any objections to the selective invitation and inclusion of some non board members for part or all of this retreat? Blue Rasberry (talk) 20:50, 23 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Request for travel support[edit]

Former Wiki NYC board member Abhishek still lives in Boston and is still organizing Wiki projects in that city. He has requested $200 travel funding to travel from Boston to NYC to join all 8 hours of this Wiki NYC retreat. He posted a funding request at Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/Committees/Travel#Local_Travel_Grant_.235_-_.5BMonth_YYYY.5D.

In 2016 Lea, the board member on the travel committee, left the United States and is less engaged. As such there is no board member dedicated to reviewing microgrants for travel. Is there some board member who could comment on whether Abhishek should join, and also, to comment on whether he could get up to $200 reimbursement for his travel and accommodation costs to be at this governance meeting?
