Fall 2009 Meetup in Providence?[edit]

I'm trying to schedule another Providence Meetup for the Fall. Please drop a note at Fall 2009 dates? expressing interest and preferences for dates/times. --mikeu talk 13:36, 13 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Favor[edit]

I have a favor to ask. Philipse Manor Hall State Historic Site has a portrait of Rutherford Hayes painted by Thomas Eakins. I would greatly appreciate it if someone in the area were to get a photograph of the painting, upload it, and add it to List of works by Thomas Eakins as #473. Strategy session[edit]

Let's make this meeting part of the Wikimedia Strategic Planning discussion! See strategy:Meetups/Wikimedia-Bridgespan Workshop (August 2009) and strategy:Talk:Meetups.--Pharos (talk) 01:34, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Form 1023[edit]

I need someone to volunteer to fill out and file IRS Form 1023 for the chapter. It needs to be filed for our tax exemption and I have neither the time nor am I in the proper location to file it. Any takers? MBisanz talk 01:44, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've been working on it, following up on your initial draft, and I should have some version to show by Sunday.--Pharos (talk) 01:48, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ahh good, glad to hear that. MBisanz talk 02:17, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

November-ish meetup dates/food[edit]

So, I have two humble requests for the November meetup:

  • Any possibility of holding it November 8th instead of 15th or 22nd? I'll be on vacation from the 14th-22nd
  • Is there any restaurant near Columbia that can accommodate the group at round, or square, or any table shape other than long and narrow, so that we can all see each other? If so, can we try there instead of Symposium?

    • and with free Wi-Fi so we can show each other how to make arcane edit types and smear sauce on our keyboards? Jim.henderson (talk) 17:48, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
      • Free Wi-Fi is quite unlikely. If, however, we somehow find a place to eat inside Columbia campus, Wi-Fi is free. I'll ask around. Tim Song (talk) 18:02, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
      • Anyone else care to chime in on their favorite Sunday in November? I guess it's down to what works for people. As to restaurant ideas, let's here some suggestions for new places :)--Pharos (talk) 01:20, 24 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Software Freedom Day at TOPP Saturday[edit]

The good folks at TOPP have invited us to their Software Freedom Day party on Saturday. I can't make it, but perhaps others might like it; I certainly had a blast there last year. Everyone is welcome, but email RSVPs are required.--Pharos (talk) 20:13, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
