I am trying to ensure a basic page exists as a previous attempt was unfairly, inaccurately and damagingly deleted with the note "Unsuccessful actor." This was greatly harmful to my business, and there are many similar pages for performers with the same or lesser experience. I do not need a page for promotion, I am creating a page as I am a performer in many audio dramas belonging to franchises, which have extensive satellite written works and so it would be legitimate to have a page for reference. My name is also a stub in several other wiki articles and referenced (for my writing) in others. Searching "Cliff Chapman" on Wiki brings up results largely relating to me. It is also useful to have a page to distinguish what references to Cliff Chapman *aren't* me, of course.

I am on IMDB - but IMDB does not of course include work outside of TV and film on the main.

They won't. We require sources that are in-depth, non-routine, independent, written by identifiable authors, and published in outlets that have competent editorial oversight that fact-checks, discloses, corrects, and retracts in order for us to even consider having an article or even having specific claims in the article. None of the sources on the draft (and by extension, none of the sources above, as all of them are already on the draft) meet all five of those criteria. Just because a subject is mentioned in multiple articles doesn't mean that subject gets an article by default, if the sources don't exist to support a separate article. —Jéské Couriano v^_^v a little blue Bori 18:53, 18 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I am not understanding why the references I submitted are not qualified? I supplied IMDB, Yahoo, Deadline & Cinequest Film Festival. Can someone please help me understand what the issue is?

@Logo57: IMDb is not an acceptable source (no editorial oversight). The Yahoo/Deadline source (the two are literally the same article) is useless for notability (routine coverage). The Cinequest Festival's page isn't a useful source (at best, it proves it's on the slate). Hi,

I was taking on the task of creating a webpage and I didn't know I needed to submit the page to this section for review. The admin then deleted my article because I accidentally removed the speedy deletion, didn't even know you could do that. So I was wondering if someone can assist me in retrieving my post and trying to submit it through the proper channels?

James245012, Wikipedia is not Social media nor is it a vehicle for advertising. Wikipedia has articles on notable subjects, not pages or posts. Your writing has been moved into draft space where it is likely to remain without significant improvement in writing and sources. Please see WP:NCORP for the standards expected of an article about a company or product and WP:PROMO for what wikipedia is not. Please also see WP:COI and WP:PAID as certain disclosures are required by the terms of service of Wikipedia when writing about a topic you are connected to, especially if you are an employee or otherwise receiving compensation.Slywriter (talk) 02:37, 19 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
