02:48:06, 11 January 2019 review of submission by DanGBE[edit]

I have added new references from the school's own website and a couple of external websites, after reviewing other school pages there are not much different then this one! It would be appreciated if you can provide anymore advice of edits that can be done to help publish this page?

DanGBE (talk) 02:48, 11 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft fails WP:NSCHOOL. It requires significant coverage of independent, secondary sources. The school's official website is a primary source and is not a reliable source. More info left on your talk page Abelmoschus Esculentus (talkcontribs) 06:37, 11 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

04:17:03, 11 January 2019 review of draft by Warren.williams[edit]

Hi, I'm new at creating pages in Wikipedia, and just want to make sure I'm approaching this the right way. I noticed that John Salter recently died, and that he doesn't have a Wikipedia page. He was a key figure during the civil rights era in the southern US. He is in one of the iconic photographs from that era, the sit-in at the Woolworth's lunch counter in Jackson, Mississippi in 1963, and his name appears in several exhibits in the new Mississippi Civil Rights Museum.

Anyhow, two questions:

(1) as I create the page and make changes, Wikipedia is saving each of those changes as an update. Is there a better way to go about the initial creation and tweaking of the page without piling up a bunch of versions in the history?

(2) the photo, taken by Jackson Daily News photographer Fred Blackwell in 1963, is pretty widely used on the web, but I can't seem to find the photo in Wikimedia Commons. Do you have any suggestions for adding that photo? (i.e. either obtaining permission, or determining whether it is "fair use" or public domain at this point?)

Hi I'd like some assistance on this article. Every single part of the article is supported by the citations.

But the reviewer wrote "Large sections remain unreferenced."

Can you help me understand. I put the citation at the end of the table or paragraphs. Am I to duplicate the citation on every paragraph or sentence?

Also there are seven citations from the New York Times. Can you help me understand what else is needed?

Also there are citations from the New York Senate official law text. This is an article about tax laws that affect millions of people which is why I cite the New York Senate official law text but make it more understandable with words and examples.

I believe, it is also notable because it is in the New York Times and affects millions of people. Ryozzo (talk) 04:53, 11 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

05:09:32, 11 January 2019 review of draft by Michael E Nolan[edit]

Hi, I'm trying to add geographic coordinates at the top of the page and I don't understand how to it. I tried 18°9′N 99°22′W / 18.150°N 99.367°W / 18.150; -99.367 Since this is decimal, should I write 18°54′N 99°13′W / 18.9°N 99.22°W / 18.9; -99.22? Exactly where do I put this on the page? Thanks.

No. See WP:PROMO. Although I do not have the administrator toolset to view your deleted articles, it is certainly promotional that it falls under WP:G11. Abelmoschus Esculentus (talkcontribs) 06:34, 11 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The following discussion has been closed. Please do not modify it.

For so the Lord has commanded us saying, `I have set you to be a light for the Gentiles, so that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth’ [Acts 13:47] The command of the Lord to spread the Word of God and to bring salvation to each and every soul is the mission of Ishvani Television. Realizing the power of television, as the world’s most powerful medium of communication, and also a key part of the society The Diocese of Ujjain cultivated a dream of giving wings to the Media and Communication Ministry of the Diocese Navdarshan Sanchar Kendra and initiated its television ministry. The humble evangelization effort sprouted with a 30 minute program and name given was Vachan Sudha, which was telecasted through Siti Cable. The program basically included sermons by the priests. Enthusiastic with the positive response the program was receiving and also understanding the need of the faithful The Diocese of Ujjain decided to convert the small effort into a 24x7 hour channel so that it can shed Light of the Lord where there is dark, ignorance and hatred. But with this decision the need for a studio was greatly felt as for a channel there was need of series of copious programs. The Studio received approval from Rev Bishop Mar.Sabestian Vadakel and the channel was Christened Ishvani Television. The newly constructed studio was inaugurated on July 16, 2015 and Rev Bishop handed the command of Ishvani Television to Rev Father Vineesh Mathew. The dedication of the director Rev Father Vineesh Mathew and the staff bore fruit and the first shooting in studio was done on July 29 2015 marking the advent of new era of evangelization through mass media. The first program was educational interactive program shot with teachers and students of St Paul’s Convent school , Ujjain. The challenge was evermore increasing as the channel if telecasted 24x7 required lot of programs. The director along with the staff chalked the strategy and made the outline of new programs which webbed the interest of the people along with the strong message to spread the Word of God. A series of new programs were launched by Ishvani Television. The 24x7 hour channel started on The Feast Day of Mother Mary December 8th 2015 and this blossomed the only Hindi Christian Devotional channel in North India. The non commercial channel with the sole motive of bringing the salvation through Lord to every person irrespective of caste, creed and sect was expanding and thus the need for expansion of the building was also felt. At every step there were challenges and at every step Lord and Mother Mary in whose hands Ishvani Television dwells supported and took Ishvani Television to new heights. The Ishvani Television was soon telecasted in the states of Madhya Pradesh , Chattisgarh, Rajasthan and NCR through Siti Cable network. A series of programs including Vachan Sudha, Divine Symphony, Jesus kids, Tere Liye, Bible Frames, Voice of Youth were telecasted. Releasing the power of radio Ishvani Television soon chalked out the launching of Ishvani Radio and the Radio Ministry successfully started on August 8 , 2017. But the vision of the Director and the commitment was to reach to the hearts of thousands crossing the limit of states and telecasting. The persistent efforts yielded result and Ishvani Television was soon available to the people at just click of a button through Ishvani Television mobile App launched on February 1, 2018. At present the expansion of Ishvani Television with its ministries including Radio Ministry, Prayer Ministry is under the pipeline. Also the plan to kick start Ishvani Magazine and efforts to make Ishvani Television a satellite channel are under progress.

Hello and thank you for this review. There are two *completely different* Ellen Reid's... two different human beings deserving of two separate entries. The person I'm trying to make an entry for is Ellen Reid– the AMERICAN composer. The American Ellen Reid is one of the most exciting composers of her generation. She is the only female composer to have her works performed at all three major opera venues in Los Angeles. Since I first submitted her entry, she's received even more press for her latest opera PRISM. https://www.wsj.com/articles/portraits-of-pain-at-the-prototype-festival-11547070607 https://www.nytimes.com/2019/01/03/arts/music/classical-music-in-nyc-this-week.html https://www.washingtonpost.com/entertainment/music/at-the-prototype-festival-opera-for-our-dark-time/2019/01/07/d9c0d2f2-12b1-11e9-90a8-136fa44b80ba_story.html?utm_term=.677ae7407ee3 There are very few female composers and it's incredibly important that we give them credit. 09:05:43, 11 January 2019 review of submission by Vanessa.koenig[edit]

Hello, I'm having great difficulty adding a wikipedia page for the organisation that I work for the European Corporate Governance Institute(ECGI). We had a wikipedia page before for years, but after I added some new material to it, it was deleted for copyright reasons. Following this I set up a draft page for ECGI. I rewrote and reworded the information from our website in order to surpass these copyright rules. However the draft version was rejected and I have been given a warning that if I submit a page again with copied material I will be suspended. Can you please advise how I should go about setting up a wiki page for ECGI? We have been without one for over a year now, and I have tried hard to rewrite the information contained on our website. However as I'm sure you will understand there are only so many ways to describe what we do. I'm extremely frustrated with this process and would appreciate any help you may be able to offer me. Thanks.

Vanessa.koenig (talk) 09:05, 11 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

We do not care what the ECGI has to say about itself. We want to know what other, reliable sources without a conflict of interest have to say about the ECGI. What does academe say about you? What does Europe's financial press say about you? If nobody else has written about them, then maybe they are too obscure to appear here. --Orange Mike | Talk 13:30, 11 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
User:Vanessa.koenig - If you are trying to use Wikipedia as your organization's web page, it would be a better idea simply to host your own web page. It doesn't cost much, and is under your control. Wikipedia is not a web host. Robert McClenon (talk) 16:26, 13 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

We have been researching Frank A. Russell for a long time and would like to bring him to the attention of the world. We have a lot of newspaper documents and photographs but very few are published online. Only the ones presented via the given links.

We feel that his links to the hoax's of the 1950's and the development of a belief in UFO phenomena is relevant.

How can we improve the document please>?

How can I have my article on the S&P Europe 350 Dividend Aristocrats approved? Why is it not notable enough?

Tommycarstensen (talk) 14:44, 11 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The comment left by the reviewer was:

Does not meet WP:NORG; significant RS coverage not found.

RS means reliable sources. I suggest you to take some time clicking into the link and understanding what is notability. It requires significant coverage of reliable sources that are independent of the subject. More info posted on your talk page. Specific details as to exactly where the non-neutral parts exist would be helpful to improve the following draft: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Buy_Nothing_Project

Also, is there a minimum number of independent, reliable, published sources that needs to be cited for the article to be considered "pass worthy"? Is so, that number would be useful to know or at the very least, indicate which citations in the draft are considered non-independent or unreliable. Thank you.

17:09:36, 11 January 2019 review of submission by Danlanga08[edit]

Hello,

I'm working on this page for the conductor of the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra, Arie Lipsky. I have just noticed that the article was declined as it "requires significant coverage in independent reliable sources." If possible, could you please clarify this further? Does this require significant changes to the content of the article? I have used other conductors' wiki articles as a templet for this page and would love to get this page up as soon as possible. Thank you very much for your help!

Jazz Egger is internationally known for constantly being active in the fashion industry as an activist. There are hundreds of articles that talk about different campaigns she did and the events she is known for. She is by no means only known for "one event". Feel free to google her and you will see for yourself. When googling Jazz Egger one of the first few suggestions by Google is "Jazz Egger Wikipedia", that was the reason why I wanted to create a Wiki page for her, because it looks like many people are looking for it. The sources I added are very high profile. What can I do in order for it to be accepted? Thanks

Fashionmgmt (talk) 17:26, 11 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Fashionmgmt: - I would probably agree that WP:BLP1E doesn't factor here, though the argument could be made unless you can show there was significant coverage for both areas that made her make the news (behind the scenes and the sexual exploitation).
More importantly - Cosmo is a good source. However, while you should keep all the references, for purposes of counting notability it can only count once. Even in different languages it can't be independent from itself, so it could just be one source over-selling one of its stories.
I'd suggest finding another 2 good sources on the latter story as the best way to solve two problems at once.
Cheers, let me know if you have any questions (just put {{ping|Nosebagbear}} in your response) Nosebagbear (talk) 22:55, 11 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Nosebagbear: Hi and thank you so much! I added two more sources (Glamour mag and ELLE mag) please would you be so kind to check if you find any other mistakes? Thank you!

I am requesting assistance to improve the article further for the purpose of sufficient notability.

Article of concern: Ascentium Capital

Submission rejection reason: not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia

It seems sufficient notability can be described as such: “Deep or significant coverage provides an overview, description, commentary, survey, study, discussion, analysis, or evaluation of the product, company, or organization.” Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies)

Further, I believe the sources listed qualify as quality content—“Quantity does not determine significance. It is the quality of the content that governs.”

Here are few examples of quality references: Reference 4, The Wall Street Journal; Reference 10, Michigan Saves; Reference 16, The Monitor; and Reference 15, Houston Business Journal

Thank you for your help! IrfanAli512 (talk) 17:46, 11 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@IrfanAli512: - hi there. Firstly, thank you for listing what you think are the best sources, it saves considerable time. I sometimes do it on the talk page of long-ref articles I've gone through/created. Critically, I'm only considering the notability issue in the top 3/4
So firstly, I've no idea what is going on with ref 4 - it's got 3 references built into it. For now, I'll call them 4.1, 4.2 & 4.3
However, I looked at all 3 plus the others. I'm reticent about the monitor daily's reliability as it looks to have independent issues from the topics its reporting on. Several others are problematic. I also had a look at the other WMJ sources, which were of less use.
However, refs 4.1 & 4.2 are of high quality and more than satisfy WP:CORPDEPTH. I believe that Houston Business journals is an adequately reliable source, given a look in-wiki and at their set-up. It took a degree of chicanery but I finally got access. Thus source 15 was also decent.
Corporate notability rules are much stricter than a general article's. I would say I am about 75% confident that corporate notability is satisfied. I do think the notability rejection is probably not justified at this point - it's not clear you can't find other good coverage.
Now the rest... - @K.e.coffman: is undoubtedly right as regards a heavily promotional article. While you have declared your paid editing, it is rather pointless if you can't write an article that is neutral. There is coverage in the various sources - include details on what the company does, we don't need a run down on the best things done or awards given. Include both positive and negative details. As a Paid Editor your draft will be examined in detail for issues. Nosebagbear (talk) 23:26, 11 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Nosebagbear: Hi, thank you for taking the time to review the draft article and providing insights on how to further improve this article. Could you provide insight on how this article can meet the neutrality requirement? Or, would there be a Wikipedia directory/page where I can list this draft so that I can get help in meeting neutrality? IrfanAli512 (talk) 17:05, 15 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

21:32:50, 11 January 2019 review of submission by Heeheemalu[edit]

Taichung is a city in Taiwan, so the subject of this article does not already exist in Wikipedia. This article aims to give more detailed information on skyscrapers in Taichung specifically, including the history of their creations with respect to Taiwan's economy, which would be irrelevant to put in the List_of_tallest_buildings_in_Taiwan page as it is too specific. Also, other large cities in Taiwan (e.g. Taipei, Kaohsiung) all have their own specific page dedicated to skyscrapers, so there is no reason to deny Taichung, which is arguably second/ third largest city in Taiwan.

Heeheemalu (talk) 21:32, 11 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Heeheemalu: - firstly saying "other stuff exists" doesn't support article existence (it could demonstrate others shouldn't, or we may be caught in a "where to call the separation" issue)
There are two massive issues as to why this draft was rejected. Being a "ContentFork" (taking content that is in one big article and giving it its own article) and a complete lack of sources
The second is the total killer - you need sources that cover all your buildings (they may be congregated together in a few sources, or not) and they need to be reliable. There are some sourcing issues with the Taiwan-wide article, so be careful on relying just on that.
The original reviewer gave a few thoughts on Contentforks that it's worth dropping at least a couple of messages with. Make sure to justify why there's sufficient need for Taichung to have a list Nosebagbear (talk) 23:34, 11 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
