Request on 01:17:49, 6 April 2018 for assistance on AfC submission by Senraco[edit]

There was no reason left on why the submission was denied. Van I get an explanation on what was wrong so I can correct it?

Senraco (talk) 01:17, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Senraco, it is actually impossible to decline a draft without giving a reason. The large pink box at the top of the page does give the reason together with links to guidance on how to solve the problem. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 10:39, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

What does "no blue links" mean?

84.73.9.156 (talk) 12:56, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, IP user. By "Blue Link", I'd assume the moderator meant Wikilinks. Basically, the draft currently has no active links to other pages on Wikipedia. I'm not sure what is really meant by this, as there are Wikilinks in the fields, and the template is similar to other templates in my opinion such as Template:AMD Ryzen Mobile. I have submitted and accepted the template, as it seems ok to me. Where would this Template be used? Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 13:05, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I have several Template:AMD templates in the queue for re-review that have been similarly rejected. The edit history attributed from the beginning that this was content copied from the original pages, so they not only conform to the current AMD template style, but also to what they would replace. They have been created so that the tables can be shared with other pages where there is duplication or they are simply still missing. 84.73.9.156 (talk) 14:36, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Request on 13:49:30, 6 April 2018 for assistance on AfC submission by Narcondum[edit]

This first time i am creating a new topic.... and i genuinely believe that this topic must be there is wikipedia as Andaman Sheekha is one of the prominent newspaper of Andaman, India. I am new so do not know much rules.... anyone..any senior editor can google and check..how many answer come out when you type Andaman sheekha, Andaman in google............. and hence this topic is need of the hour......... i need help

Narcondum (talk) 13:49, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Narcondum. The reviewer comments on the draft are not especially helpful. For the draft to be published, it needs to persuade the reviewer that Andaman Sheekha meets the notability criteria for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The way to do that is to cite multiple, independent, reliable sources. Referencing for beginners explains how to cite sources. Saying that there are many Google hits is not enough. --Worldbruce (talk) 14:20, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

ElijahGreen101 (talk) 15:24, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

um hi. I'm trying to make an article called Draft:Carpentersville_Middle_School. Its not the most notable, but I want to make it because it's my school. How can I make it meet the notability guidelines? thx ElijahGreen101

Hello @ElijahGreen101: the issue is that most middle schools on the planet do not meet Notability because most of them pretty much just do their job educating people without anything unduly special happening. You can take a look at WP:Notability (schools) to see if there's anything special Carpentersville qualifies for, but generally speaking middle schools don't get their own article.
I hope you're not too disappointed, since writing this article is good practice anyway to learn wiki coding skills. In general, before writing an article you *really* want to make sure it meets WP:Notability (and note there are specific guidelines for all kinds of topics that you can google up). But no harm done, hopefully it's still a good learning experience. Hope this answers your question. MatthewVanitas (talk) 02:47, 9 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

17:02:06, 6 April 2018 review of submission by Yesterdaysfire[edit]

Hi there!

My article It's Never Enough (Album) was accepted after review. But, now I can't find the article published anywhere on the wikipedia site. Any chance you may know what could have happened?

Yesterdaysfire (talk) 17:02, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Yesterdaysfire. The reviewer accepted the draft but immediately turned it into a redirect to the band, without leaving any comment about it for you, which I can see could be confusing.
They felt the draft did not meet Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, specifically the notability guideline WP:NALBUM. Rather than decline the draft a fourth time for the same reason (when the three previous declines didn't seem to have conveyed to you just how far off the mark the draft was), the reviewer accepted the name of the draft as a reasonable search term that should lead to some information (at the band article), but removed the draft's content from view.
If you click on the wikilink It's Never Enough (Mordecai album), you will be taken to the article Mordecai (band) with a note at the top of the page: "(Redirected from It's Never Enough (Mordecai album))". If you click on that small text you'll reach the page you worked on. It's now a redirect, but all your work is preserved in the page's history, and if at some future date the album can be shown to be notable, then the redirect can be converted into a stand alone article. Because you've had considerable difficulty with it, I recommend leaving it for a more experienced Wikipedian, or until you have gained more experience. --Worldbruce (talk) 00:39, 7 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Request on 17:28:09, 6 April 2018 for assistance on AfC submission by Chiefwill33[edit]

I'm requesting assistance because my submission has been denied and i do not know why. I want to make the proper changes so that my submission can be approved. Chiefwill33 (talk) 17:28, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Chiefwill33 - I'm afraid this draft has many problems. They are explained in the Decline Notice. First you have to show that McKithen is Notable. To do this, you need to provide evidence of significant coverage about him in a range of reliable, independent sources. You don't have any such sourcing. Sources 1/3 are links to his book. These aren't independent. I don't know what Source 2 is, but it doesn't look reliable. Second, the content is very promotional. We just don't write articles that say "McKithen is a really clever guy", which is what you are saying with content like "his excellent academic achievements and his work with the diverse community and tremendous work edifying students in the community". Last, I think it very likely you are connected to McKithen. Are you? If you are that needs to be declared as Conflict of Interest. All in all, I very much doubt you can make this draft acceptable. I want to make sure that my article Draft:Jean Hosmer is well-suitable for acceptance. It was reviewed very quickly but denied just as so. I have added more sources, which I believe to be of good quality. Vertalis (talk) 20:33, 6 April 2018 (UTC) Vertalis (talk) 20:33, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Vertalis: it appears you've already published the article on your own, and it now exists at Jean Hosmer. MatthewVanitas (talk) 02:48, 9 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Request on 20:37:29, 6 April 2018 for assistance on AfC submission by Ad Beljaars[edit]

I do not have much experience with Wikipedia, in 2017 I created the same page in Dutch language. Tried now to do it in English language, but for some reason the sources of the information for this page can be seen in the source text, but they do not show when published. Anyone that can check the script of these lines at the bottom of the page? Many thanks, Ad Ad Beljaars (talk) 20:37, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ad Beljaars. The sources were not visible because on en.wikipedia there is no Sjabloon:Appendix. I removed that template and left the notes and references in a format that is commonly used here. --Worldbruce (talk) 00:01, 7 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
