04:59:58, 28 August 2017 review of submission by Peytonemmerson[edit]

Peytonemmerson (talk) 04:59, 28 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I am in the process of editing an article and would like to add an image to the template "WPBBiography". The image says it is not available. What do you suggest I should do?

Thank you, Peyton

Hi Peytonemmerson. In Draft:Franki Moscato there is a red file link within the infobox. If you click on it you will be presented with instructions on how to add a photo. I strongly suggest, however, that you not add a photo at this time. The draft as it stands now has zero chance of being accepted because it cites zero independent, reliable sources. Whether it has a photo or not will have no effect on whether the draft is accepted for publication. --Worldbruce (talk) 05:43, 28 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

08:33:53, 28 August 2017 review of submission by B. Hullihen[edit]

B. Hullihen (talk) 08:33, 28 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, How can I cite this book in my draft article:The_Harry_R._Horvitz_Center_for_Palliative_Medicine, that has 2 ISBN numbers or should I only use one of these?????? Or is the problem referencing Amazon books???

Here is the reference:

Palliative Medicine: Expert Consult: Online Publishers: Saunders / Elsevier Published: 2009 ISBN-13: 978-0323056748 ISBN-10: 0323056741 Authors:T. Declan Walsh MD, Augusto T. Caraceni MD, et.al https://www.amazon.com/dp/0323056741/ref=rdr_ext_tmb

Hi B. Hullihen it is almost never a good idea to link to a specific seller, you're citing a publication, not advertising for the dealer. When a book has an ISBN a properly formatted reference will create an "automagical" link to WP:Book sources which provides a worldwide database of libraries and dealers that have the title in stock. Use the longer 13-digit ISBN if it is available, otherwise the 10-digit version will also work for older publications.
This markup will create a well-formatted book citation:
{{cite book|first1=Declan |last1=Walsh |first2=Kathleen M. |display-authors=et al. |last2=Foley |title=Palliative medicine|date=2008|publisher=Saunders|location=Philadelphia, Pa.|isbn=978-0323056748}}
Like this:
Walsh, Declan; Foley, Kathleen M.; et al. (2008). Palliative medicine. Philadelphia, Pa.: Saunders. ISBN 978-0323056748.
just put it between ref tags as with any other inline reference. To see the Book sources list click on the ISBN. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 11:04, 28 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

09:52:25, 28 August 2017 review of submission by Georgweinand[edit]

Georgweinand (talk) 09:52, 28 August 2017 (UTC) Hello, It is about a month that I submitted an article for the second time. When could I expect an approval? Thank you very much. GW[reply]

Hello, GW. Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia. Right now, there are about 250 submissions in the queue ahead of yours, so I expect that it will be at least a week before a reviewer gets a chance to take a look at it. But I did take a quick look and noticed that there are some things that should be addressed before then. First, the in-article external links that appear throughout the draft, especially in the "Projects" section, should not be there. They should be converted (where appropriate) to footnote references. And those that are serving merely to direct the reader to the main page of an organization's web site probably shouldn't be there at all (neither as an in-article link nor as a footnote). But more important, the biography section doesn't have any in-line citations. This will not be acceptable in a biography of a living person, even if the information can be found in links provided elsewhere in the draft.

If you haven't already done so, you might want to work through our WP:Tutorial, paying special attention to the lessons on "Linking" and "Citing sources".

I also see that your surname is the same as that of the subject, and this leads me to think that you have a conflict of interest regarding the subject. It also leads me to understand why portions of your draft take on a non-neutral tone of voice. This, too, should be addressed before the next review.

I hope this response has been helpful. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. NewYorkActuary (talk) 13:59, 28 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not exactly certain what is incorrect with the references that I've included, and I'm looking for guidance in order to do it properly

Hello, Roseee. Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia. Basic guidance on referencing can be gotten from our WP:Tutorial, in the lesson on "Citing sources". An in-depth treatment can be gotten from WP:CITE. I hope this response has been helpful. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask. (edit conflict) There are (at least) three things wrong with the references in your draft:
  1. Most of them do nothing to attest that the subject is notable.
  2. Many of them include URLs which give 404 "page not found" messages.
  3. They are all mis-structured, and will need to be redone or removed.
To show you how to deal with the last of these problems, I have restructured one of them, so that it cites a source in an acceptable way. (The source however appears to be to a self-published book, and so not a reliable source that helps to establish notability.) Maproom (talk) 14:22, 28 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
