Hello, I am writing in response to your message stating that my article reads like it was written for promotional purposes. I'd like to state that I followed the format of articles of similar interest and so I'm confused as to what parts of the article precisely, gives the impression of a promotional piece. Also if the article gets deleted, would I be allowed to write on the same subject if the new article adheres more to Wikipedia's policies? Thank you for your favourable response. - Hello, Gesinde. Thank you for your interest in Wikipedia. Your draft has already been deleted, so I am unable to provide any guidance on what parts of the draft might have caused concern. As to your second question, the answer is "yes" -- you are free to try again with a new draft. If you do so, keep in mind that the acceptability of the draft will depend on the existence of reliable references that are independent of the subject. - User:GESINDE - It appears that your article and you have the same name. That in itself seems promotional. Either you are advertising your own company, or you are writing an autobiography. Also, the acceptability of a draft will depend not only on independent reliable sources but on tone. A reliably sourced promotional draft is still a promotional draft. Part of my article requires evidence that a particular play was shown at a particular theater in 1938. This evidence is provided in the form of a playbill that is currently up for sale on eBay. Given that eBay is unlikely to have the playbill up for sale forever, I took screenshots of the playbill (as high resolution as possible). Am I allowed to post these images as part of the page on Wikipedia? - Hello, Lcb. Great question! I wish I knew the answer. The acceptability of the image will turn on the question of whether the artwork is in the public domain. The people who can give you a definitive answer are the ones at WP:Media copyright questions. By the way, the image itself will demonstrate only that the play was put on at the theater -- it won't demonstrate when it was put on. If you are relying on Ebay's text to document the date, that's a different question. I don't know whether the Internet Archive will archive an Ebay page but, if it does, the text on that page might serve to document both the date and the location of the play.
