I just want to make sure that my most recent edit has been submitted for review. The article is named as follows 03:26, 13 June 2014 (diff | hist) . . (+5,229)‎ . . Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Leonor Anthony ‎ (current)

I appreciate all your help,

Jose Delgado

  • It was declined by another editor on the correct grounds that it sounded too much like an advertisement. You need to remove promotional wording and statements of praise, unless they can be sourced to specific 3rd party references. There's another problem: it is not clear that the artist will meet the requirements at WP:CREATIVE -- the key one is to have works in the permanent collections of major museums (the only one I see is Florida International University Permanent Art Collection, 2013, which is not enough by itself) If there are any, give specific references to the holdings. Awards can sometimes show notability, but these awards are all very minor. If she does not now meet these requirements, the best thing to do wis to wait until she does, and then resubmit an article. In the meantime, you might want to contribute to other topics of interest. DGG ( talk ) 09:09, 22 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Sinok! I would like to ask for Your help at improving my article. You wrote that my references are not reliable. Before I created my article, I asqued on the help page, if I can use a book, that dosn't have an e-book version, nor is it known much, as it is a Hungarian art book. They said it can be fine. I got most info, especially the history of the gallery from there, "Somhegyi, Zoltán (2011) "Cím nélkül, Válogatás a Szalóky-gyűjteményből.", Garbo Publisher Budapest". All I could find about the book online is this: http://www.zoltansomhegyi.com/publications.html if You scroll doun, it is a brown book. It actually is pretty massive. That is my main source, especially t he beginning chapters, as they describve the history and activities of the gallery.

What should I do now? Kortárs Galambocska (talk) 19:11, 21 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • The article is apparently Draft:Várfok Gallery, I consider it very close to acceptable. The problem is to make it less of an advertisement. Some of the paragraphs contain judgements of value, which we consider as promotional unless they are sourced to exact quotations from third party sources. You need to also reduce the use of adjectives in the text--it gives a promotional appearance. The extensive list of artists represented is also somewhat promotional. You should reduce it to those which have wikipedia articles here and make the links to them. Some statements need a specific reference, not just the general ref. in the bottom, such as that it is one of the oldest; in general it is good to give specific refs for as many individual statements as possible--see WP:REFBEGIN for the method. And does this article have an equivalent in the Hungarian Wikipedia? if so, add a link at the bottom, in the form [[hu:name in that WP]] Do these things, and resubmit. It should then be accepted.
