00:34:14, 21 July 2014 review of draft by Ransi124[edit]

I am trying to submit a new article about the upcoming 2016 film,The BFG, which when I try to submit it, a message appears and shows a link to the article about the book it is based on. The article contains a sub section about the upcomingich call it an 'existing article' about the film. can you help with this. Ransi124 (talk) 00:34, 21 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Ransi124: I'm not exactly sure which problem you're experiencing. If an article already exists about the book, you cannot move your draft to that location. All you are allowed to do within this process is submit your draft for review. The draft is insufficiently referenced and movies that haven't been released yet are not typically considered notable. Chris Troutman (talk) 06:47, 21 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Ransi124, the page The BFG (2016 film) currently is a redirect page. It takes the reader to the section on the article about the book which discusses the planned film. This is highly appropriate for a film whose planned release is not until mid-2016, and even that is provisional . This isn't an "upcoming film". It's a non-existent film which may eventually exist but has not even been cast, let alone begun filming. The appropriate time for an article about the film will be when the film actually exists and multiple reliable independent sources have written about it. When that happens, the redirect will be removed from the page and replaced with an article, but not before. Voceditenore (talk) 10:46, 23 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi mods, how is it possible for an arcade game to have notability? I noticed that arcade games only exist in wikipedia if they were created in the past when rules weren't stringent or if they have console versions, which gives them a spot on metacritic.

To be notable an arcade game such as Draft:DANZ BASE must have references. We require references from significant coverage about the entity, and independent of it, and in WP:RS please. See WP:42. Other articles here do not ever set a precedent. All non notable articles will, eventually, be removed when people nominate them for one of the deletion processes, or will be improved because of that. Using existing poor articles as a precedent would lead us towards Idiocracy. Fiddle Faddle 09:36, 21 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

no Declined Simply resubmitting Draft:Dr.J.K.Singh without doing any work seems to be rather rude to the reviewer who told you what was required. What did you hope to achieve? This is not roulette, this is a review process. Do the work and find good quality references for him. Do not resubmit until you have done so, please. Fiddle Faddle 09:31, 21 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'm starting an autobiographic wiki page. Someone else has put up such pages in the Spanish and Netherlands versions, but there are none in English, and none up to date.

I've got a sandbox rough draft, but I don't see any formatting (different fonts, sizes, lines, etc.) and have no clue how to insert those.

I've tried, twice, to go to live chat to get these questions answered, but see no place/no way how to insert my responses to questions. The first question was on significance of the post; hopefully, my first point and the fact that I'm in the top few percent of scientists in terms of citations should address that.

How do you recommend I proceed?

Calochortus007 (talk) 18:40, 21 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Calochortus007: no Declined Be advised that autobiographies are always discouraged. The fact that other articles are similar is an invalid argument. If the subject meets our notability criteria for academics a valid article could be created but you would have to have independent and reliable sources to prove those claims. I recommend you try the Wikipedia Adventure to learn the "buttonology" of Wikipedia editing before you attempt editing articles. Chris Troutman (talk) 19:09, 21 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
