December 10[edit]

04:44:56, 10 December 2014 review of submission by Amsoft2001[edit]

I have created the draft to let Wikipedia know that there is an entity named "AM Infosystems". I have noticed that it has been declined and deleted. It is really disappointing. When I did that draft, I took enough care to make it proper as per wikipedia guidelines. I don't think I have promoted any product or all of the services that the organization render. I searched wikipedia for "Infosys", "Tata Consultancy Services", "WEBEL" and so on and I noticed that all of the organizations (Practically a Company or Business) are there. So I thought why not us! We might be smaller one and not a giant, but as those entities can have place on wiki, then we should have our place as well. If Wikipedia does not allow Business Entities to promote them or put them on wikipedia then the above Pages (and more I'll provide) needs to removed immediately as well. I think rule is rule and the same rule should be applied on every entity, does not matter if it is a big one or small. I hope that I'll get a proper information.Thank you. Hello Amsoft2001. Wikipedia does have articles about companies, in cases where the company has received significant coverage in multiple independent reliable sources. The issue is not whether articles about companies are permissible, but how the article is written. Draft:AM Infosystems was looked at by two experienced administrators, both of whom took the view that the way it was written was so hopelessly promotional that it would need to be completely re-written in order to be an appropriate encyclopedia article.
The articles about Infosys and other companies may or may not be better written... if not then they could be deleted too. You could find better examples of articles about companies by looking at some recognised Wikipedia Good Articles from the list at Wikipedia:Good articles/Social sciences and society#Businesses & organizations. Hi there, I have been working on a previously submitted page. I was hoping to get some input on it.

Here is a link to the page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/The_Deshe_Bideshe

Thank you kindly.

Shamhan

Hello Shamhan. This draft will likely be declined again unless you add some references. To get started, try reading Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners to see how to add references. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 11:31, 10 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

13:15:27, 10 December 2014 review of draft by THEFILMHOUSE[edit]

THEFILMHOUSE (talk) 13:15, 10 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, I'm Ashiq and I created THEFILMHOUSE for my Film Production Company. and I got this message;

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "THEFILMHOUSE", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Trammel Museum of Art". However, you are invited to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you personally, such as "Mark at WidgetsUSA", "Jack Smith at the XY Foundation", and "WidgetFan87".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, or website, regardless of your username. Moreover, I recommend that you read our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please create a new account or request a username change that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. VVikingTalkEdits 12:52, 9 December 2014 (UTC)

My questions are;

Do I have to change the username or the Article Name? What should I do next?

thanks

@THEFILMHOUSE: - You should follow the instructions here and change your username to something that can be identified as an individual rather than a company. Regarding your submission, it is written in a completely inappropriate tone and unsuitable for an encyclopedia. For example : "The Film House is a world-class production company and filmmaking collective at home in Doha, Qatar.With bold imaginations and creative productions" World-class according to whom? Anyone can have bold imaginations and "creative productions" doesn't mean anything - who would want to be uncreative? Are you as significant and successful as Film Four, Mirimax or StudioCanal? You should read the plain and simple conflict of interest guide and understand why you probably don't want to be writing this sort of article on Wikipedia at all. Sorry. 19:20:08, 10 December 2014 review of submission by Bobwells1960[edit]

Bobwells1960 (talk) 19:20, 10 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have two questions:

1. Regarding my International Tax Policy Forum submission -- the reason I got for rejection was the references are not verifiable. They look fine to me.

2. Regarding my Camp Manitou for Boys submission -- it seems to have disappeared. I want to do some edits so it can finally get published. How can I find it, if it was deleted?

  1. Wikipedia content should be based on reliable sources that are independent of the subject, such as newspapers or reputable magazines. None of your references meet this standard; they without exception were written by ITPF or a conference they sponsored.
  2. There is Draft:Camp Manitou for Boys, written by User:Robert J Wells. Most of the references you listed at that account's talk page seemed to be of little use to me, with the Business Insider list of "absurdly expensive camps" the best of the bunch. @Alwafysaeed: "This submission seems to be a test edit and not an article worthy of an encyclopedia" I'm having your user page deleted since you're using to advertise a website. If you're not careful you'll be run off Wikipedia entirely. Chris Troutman (talk) 01:23, 11 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
