May 11[edit]

I have rewritten an article called Bishop Ranch Business Park a couple of times. It has been rejected by the reviewer as not having any notable characteristics. I added several notable facts with my last rewrite and the reviewer said it still is not notable. I added these two sections:

LEED Certified Business Community [edit] 37 buildings at Bishop Ranch have been LEED (for existing buildings)certified, a total of about 6 million square feet. That's deemed to be one of the most ambitious projects for LEED -- Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design --ever undertaken by a business complex in the United States. [10] Bishop Ranch accounts for over 10% of LEED certifications in California in 2012 by square foot.[11] Most buildings at Bishop Ranch are also Energy Star-certified. It even hosts a farmers market twice a week.[12] City Center Project [edit] Sunset Development has plans to build a high density transit oriented "Downtown" for the City of San Ramon within Bishop Ranch. It is a significant project for San Ramon, and for the entire Tri-Valley region. [13] The City Center project secured its key entitlements in 2008, which are vested through a development agreement with the City. [14] The 2.1-million square foot San Ramon City Center will accomplish the long sought after objective of establishing a community-gathering place and town center. [15]San Ramon City Center will blend together community gathering, living, shopping, working, and dining experiences. The City Center will include a variety of community elements: a citizens’ gathering place and plaza (about the size of a football field); approximately 635,000 square feet of high-quality retail; and a new City Hall and Library that will comprise approximately 110,000 square feet. Above the retail space will be 488 residential units and a 169-room hotel. Additionally, a 682,000 square foot commercial office complex will be developed. San Ramon City Center also will include a cinema and approximately 100,000 square feet of restaurant space. [15]

This seems notable to me. What are the reviewers looking for? I have compared my entry to another business park in the area and the one I have written is much better and is not accepted? Please help!

Please compare against an article listed as a Good Article - see the list at WP:GA. Comparing against any random article is not really any use.
The reviewer is probably looking for reference that show the topic meets WP:42. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 06:17, 11 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I have a question, I have uploaded two pictures but they do not show up at CORO6 main page. I dont known how to make it works. The other question is that how to make this wiki page can be viewed and edited by other people?

Thank you very much for the help! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Stillulent (talkcontribs) 04:48, 11 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/CORO6 can already be viewed and edited by anyone - just give them the link.
Regarding your images, you have used the wrong link for one of them, and forgot the ".png" at the end of the other.
Your draft seems oddly written - "we found that CORO1A and CORO1B are most related to CORO6" - who is "we"? --Demiurge1000 (talk) 06:15, 11 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

SUBMISSION ISSUES[edit]

Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/indo arya

I have created this page today. But, unfortunately it was not submitted successfully as it was showing that a reviewing process will take place before complete submission.

So, I will be grateful if you give me some info about the reviewing procedure. Like how many days it would take ? whether we need to do any modifications for its submission ? how would i be able to submit it swiftly ?

I will be very grateful if you provide me updates regarding the status of my submitted article or any link from where i could know the current status. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Indo2 (talkcontribs) 09:49, 11 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Would like to Write Articles of Filipino Fashion Designers[edit]

It seems I am having a hard time figuring how I should go about this.

I created my own account, but I don't know how to start. Can you help me with this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.83.51.121 (talk) 10:24, 11 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Have a read of WP:Your first article. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 13:34, 11 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

James Townsend is clearly a notable person under the guidelines for academics. Of the listed criteria, he satisfies 5 of the 9: 1. The person's research has made significant impact in their scholarly discipline, broadly construed, as demonstrated by independent reliable sources. -The papers cited in the wikipedia article and his book all have high citation counts. -He received a lifetime achievement award from the Society of Experimental Psychologists (reference used is the society's website)

2. The person has received a highly prestigious academic award or honor at a national or international level. - E.g., award from SEP, mentioned above.

3. The person is or has been an elected member of a highly selective and prestigious scholarly society or association. - In addition to membership in SEP, he is also a fellow of the major societies in psychology, APA and APS (referenced based on an press release and the APS website).

5. The person holds or has held a named chair appointment or "Distinguished Professor" appointment at a major institution of higher education and research. - He holds both a named chair and has a "Distinguished Professor" title (established by university maintained websites).

6. The person has held a highest-level elected or appointed academic post at a major academic institution or major academic society. - He has been president of the Society for Mathematical Psychology multiple times (established by society website)

At this point, I am not sure what else I can do to establish notability. The only place I have used a reference that is directly connected to Dr. Townsend is for biographical information. Please help me to understand what I am doing wrong.

Thank you. Joewh8 (talk) 16:55, 11 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The problem is that all your sources, without exception, are primary sources: Townsend's own writings or the websites of organizations he's affiliated with. For example, the source for the claim that Townsend's book is influential is Townsend's book itself. Have third-party sources such as newspapers or reputable magazines reported on Townsend's achievements, on his awards and society memberships? Is his work discussed in peer-reviewed papers or textbooks (written by others, not by himself)? Such independent sources are what Wikipedia content should be based on; if no such sources show that third parties have taken note of Townsend's achievements, then he apparently isn't notable despite those achievements. Huon (talk) 19:18, 11 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for clarifying, Huon. Would it be appropriate to include citation counts from Web of Knowledge or Google Scholar? Also, I understand that it is important to establish that other people have written about Townsend. However I am not clear on what other source would be appropriate to establish his rank at Indiana University to satisfy point 5. Likewise for establishing that he was the president of the Society for Mathematical Psychology (point 6). Joewh8 (talk) 12:58, 12 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Is my article hosted in the wrong place?[edit]

I created an article (my first), Darren James (broadcaster), in my User:Melbourne3163/sandbox in April 2013. It was submitted for review and following some changes and re-submission, it was published this month. I have just noticed that it is still in my sandbox and appears to be the 'live copy', as I have just made a minor change to the article and that change shows up in the article that is in the sandbox. Is my article hosted in the wrong place? Any help appreciated. Cheers. Melbourne3163 (talk) 20:40, 11 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your sandbox now contains a WP:REDIRECT to the live article. The latter is in the correct place, so everything is fine. You can see the redirect (and even edit it) by going to http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Melbourne3163/sandbox&redirect=no --Demiurge1000 (talk) 20:46, 11 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for that. Melbourne3163 (talk) 18:26, 12 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
