July 31[edit]

Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/West Brook Wines Article declined, but I see no comments as to why? I created the article because the winery was referenced in another article with no link. Also, the article on New Zealand Wine pretty much completely ignores the founders of the New Zealand wine industry, which were mostly the Croatian immigrants of the 1920's and 30's, and the local industry they built in Auckland through to the 1970's. I had hoped to start putting together some skeleton articles on these historical wine producers and link them into the main New Zealand Wine entry.

The draft was declined because it cited but a single third-party source, a local newspaper article. (The other sources are the winery's own website.) That's not enough to establish that the winery is notable by Wikipedia's standards. You'll need significant coverage in multiple reliable sources that are independent of the subject, such as newspaper articles (and not just the local paper) or a book on the history of New Zealand wineries published with a reputable publisher. Hi,

I submitted an article just recently and was wondering how I could improve it so it is approved? I know this guy is notable as he is in the Australian media (print and online newspapers) very often, especially in finance and investing.

Matthewtt (talk) 05:44, 31 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Those news articles are exactly the sources you should be using. Don't just say "he was in the this, that and the other newspaper" say what he was in the news for, and use the news article itself as the source. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 08:58, 31 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Ravi Sinha.[edit]

HI

Its not getting accepted.

Please let me know the exact reason and how to overcome.

regards gaurav

Gauravshrinivas (talk) 08:45, 31 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You have already been told that you cannot use Wikipedia itself as a reference. You need to use multiple independent and reliable sources to write the article. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 09:02, 31 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I submitted the page “Carl Ronald Kahn” under the account “Joslin735” and I received the following message: This appears to be a duplicate of another submission, Carl Ronald Kahn, which is also waiting to be reviewed. To save time we will consider the other submission and not this one. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Carl_Ronald_Kahn_(2)

I submitted the original submission under the account “JoslinCommunications”, which is now locked due to the issue with the account name, and therefore, I cannot edit either version of this page.

Additionally in a previous email to the Wikipedia support, I asked for the original version of the "Carl Ronald Kahn" page to be deleted, and this request was answered: I've deleted the relevant pages, see <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Log/LFaraone? dir=prev&offset=20130711022454&limit=3>.

Yours sincerely, Luke Faraone

So you can see my problem is that I can’t edit the version of the page under the Joslin735 account because it is a duplicate version, and the original version (which I thought was deleted) can’t be edited because the JoslinCommunications account is locked.

How do I proceed? I am very eager to get this page approved.

Thanks in advance, Emily

Since the old article was deleted, go ahead and work on this one, and when its ready, re-submit it. Very few pass the first time but eventually do pass. LionMans Account (talk) 14:06, 31 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, Emily - perhaps you didn't see the reply to your posting on my talk page yesterday at User talk:Anne Delong#Help with editing a locked pageAnne Delong (talk) 14:26, 31 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Creation of a Bio for Sean Wayne Hill[edit]

Is it possible to create a bio on sean wayne hill of Bokchito Oklahoma? i want to know more about him if possible. left handed musician who doesn't switch strings but can play/read music and write. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.112.10.4 (talk) 13:21, 31 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You can try if you think he can meet WP:MUSIC, but after a quick search, it doesn't appear he does. I could be wrong though, especially if you can find information about him (outside of interviews and promotional materials) and some evidence his music would be notable. Hello, this draft http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Adela_Amador was rejected because the sources didn't reference the subject's notability. They are all news sources that talk about Amador and her publishing company or her column in New Mexico Magazine. Can you suggest any way to make the sources better evidence her notability? These are all the sources I could find, and they definitely focus on Amador and her accomplishments, so if you don't think this article stresses notability enough, perhaps she's simply not notable...Please let me know what I can do! Smtran (talk) 15:54, 31 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

All your sources are either Amador's publisher itself (clearly not an independent source) or local Albuquerque newspapers. Many of the latter don't focus on Amador (such as this one, despite your claim to the contrary) but either on her husband or on the publishing company. There's no indication that people outside Albuquerque ever took note of her - no national news coverage, no reviews of her books. So we may have to accept that Adela Amador simply isn't notable enough for an encyclopedia article. Huon (talk) 23:32, 31 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I have submitted content and my content was repeatedly deleted. I also edited and again I submit, again deleted. Reviews telling it was the content about organisation. But many of the organisation content got approved. Check following pages http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_Van_Lines http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NorthStar_Moving_Company

Then, how the above content got approved. I totally disappointed of that continous rejection. I want to know the reason. Please'accept my content.

DanielAmzallag (talk) 17:14, 31 July 2013 (UTC)DanielAmzallag[reply]

Basic problem, article is unreferenced. WP:REF should help you. Right now, the article simply appears to be about a website dealing with moving companies, but does not show notability. The other problem is it reads borderline advertising for the company. For the two articles you have, NorthStar is questionable right now, but North American is a major moving company (which explains their article). Making a submission[edit]

I'm making a submission in my sandbox, or, at least, I plan to, but I don't know how to submit it to article for creation when I'm finished. Can someone give me instructions please? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Evelenfiftyseven (talkcontribs) 18:00, 31 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Nevermind, figured it out. Evelenfiftyseven (talk) 19:10, 31 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I would like to add a photo into article: Chingiz Khalifa-zade. I already uploaded his photo under file name of Photo_Professor_Chingiz_Khalifa-zade. However, I tried to add into mentioned above article but unsuccessfully. Wikipedia's instruction related that how to add images or photos is really difficult to understand and implement. So, please add the photo file: Photo_Professor_Chingiz_Khalifa-zade into article Of Chingiz Khalifa-zade

Thank you

Apparently you found out how to add the image to the article (the picture tutorial explains the details), but unfortunately that image is an unambiguous copyright violation and had to be deleted. Huon (talk) 23:32, 31 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
