August 7[edit]

Hi,

I have just created a page for Agricultural Engineering college & Research Institute, Kumulur. And reviewers have approved it after some minor correction in it. But the Title has a mistake in it. The title is given as Agricultural Engineering college & Research Institute Kumulur. It should be "Agricultural Engineering college & Research Institute, Kumulur" because Kumulur is the name of the Place where the college is situated.
Also i wish to know how to add pictures to the page.. Please help me with it..

Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Nocturnus Filmz

Hi!

Regarding the above article; It has been rejected. The reasons for it is fine yet annoying due to the fact that there are millions of articles on Wikipedia without notable references and they surely had no problems getting it up there. Also, Nocturnus Filmz is actually an industry motion production company. Anyhow, I'm wondering if you could tell me straight on what to do? And if I want to edit the information regarding notable company etc .. etc .. Where can I do this without rewriting the whole thing?

Thanks very much!

While other insufficiently sourced articles exist, that's no excuse to create more; each submission must stand on its own merits. To establish that this company is notable enough for an encyclopedia article you have to show that it has been the subject of significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, such as newspaper articles about the company. Passing mentions, press releases or business directories won't help establish notability. Huon (talk) 21:52, 8 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I hope you can help me. I submitted an article for review yesterday and got a response that it has not been accepted. This is my first submission and I'm not sure why the article has been turned down and can't find any indication as to why it's been refused. I would appreciate some help with making my article fit for publication on Wikipedia. Thank you for your time. Fernox Water Treatment (talk) 12:42, 7 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The reason for declining is always given in the grey block inside the pink review box. Sometimes additional review comments are also posted below the pink template (box). Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 12:55, 7 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

how can i lock a page....so no one else can edit it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Devilzdad (talkcontribs) 13:35, 7 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If it meets the requirements of the Wikipedia:Protection policy - which seems unlikely - then you can request protection at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 13:46, 7 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

First of all you may want to have a look at our guideline on conflicts of interest - writing about your own organization is discouraged.
Wikipedia content should be based on reliable third-party sources such as newspaper articles. We need significant coverage in such sources both to establish that the group is notable and to allow our readers to verify the article's content. Huon (talk) 21:52, 8 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Asking about Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/George Bunn

I resubmitted this on July 30 after adding the footnotes that a previous reviewer wanted. It pretty obviously meets the notability guidelines. Can somebody please get around to reviewing this and turning it into a page?

It will require disambiguation with the other George Bunn who already has a page (an obscure judge, who if memory serves was this George Bunn's uncle or great-uncle).

There's currently a backlog of over 750 submissions awaiting review, so it may take a little more time. Please be patient.
At a glance I'm still concerned that the sources don't confirm what they're cited for. For example, I cannot tell which source deals with his AEC desegregation draft, and "handled a restaurant desegregation case in the District" is turned into "played a major role in the case that led to the desegregation of the restaurants in Washington D.C." - that's not what the source says. Hi what is a reference and how do I use it in my article? 323100arny (talk) 21:43, 7 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A reference shows readers and other editors where you got the information in your article. For example, if I said Obama won the 2012 election[1], the little number is the references. To show the references, you put {{reflist}} at the very bottom of the page - I've done this for you, and you can see the example list below. I've fixed a few things, to make it look nicer and work where it needed it :) ~Charmlet -talk- 21:51, 7 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
