NOLA Pay It Forward is bound to be a benefit concert. It's being arranged by New Orleans Mayor Mitchell J. Landrieu. The concert will take place at the Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts on November 20, 2012. The schedules performers are as followed;
Irvin Mayfield, Ivan Neville, Amanda Shaw, Stephanie Jordan, James Andrews, Big Sam's Funky Nation, Mia Borders, Khris Royal, Sasha Masakowski, The Stooges Brass Band, and Wild Magnolias with Big Chief Monk Boudreaux

- That's supposed to be added to the draft page, not to this help desk. But we need significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, both to establish the topic's notability and to allow our readers to verify thed draft's content. Hello, I submitted the first draft of this article on 18th October and it was declined on 27th October, supposedly for 'peacock terms' and insufficiently neutral tone. As far as I could see there were no peacock terms, however I modified the tone, added some more links and resubmitted it. There are no unverifiable statements - all references are to substantial and respectable sources, and given fully. This is a serious article which I prepared for Wikipedia together with a large group of professional psychotherapists. I am a professional author and editor. Can you help me to get it into Article Space? I read that logged-in users can create articles themselves and don't have to submit to Articles for Creation - is this correct, and if so how should I do it? Thank you for your help. - Technically you need not wait for the next review and can move the article into the main articlespace yourself; see WP:Moving a page for details. But I believe the draft still has some issues that should be addressed before it gets moved. I'd strongly advise you to go through the regular AfC process; otherwise the new article might immediately find itself in avoidable trouble. For example, the draft still has statements which are either unsourced or for which the sources aren't obvious, such as Harris' date and place of birth. The draft also relies heavily on primary sources such as Harris' own research papers. It would be much better to use secondary sources instead, such as reviews of Harris' work written by others. In particular we should add secondary sources for Harris' charitable work, not just the charities themselves. Maybe she has received some newspaper coverage?
- Also, the publication list seems excessive to me. I don't think we need list every single research paper. For comparison, our featured artilce on Stephen Hawking gives only a short list of his most significant publications. Similarly we should list only Harris' most significant works.
- And while that's a comparatively minor issue, according to Wikipedia's Manual of Style we should not use boldface for emphasis (nor for much of anything except the first occurrence of the article title). I removed that. Huon (talk) 15:13, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
Review of User:Capon/sandbox[edit]
Hi there, We've submitted an article for review ... Having formatted & saved it twice, the changes we made have not been saved / do not appear in the article submitted. We also seem to have failed to give the article a 'proper' title - it should be entitled 'Robin Capon' and currently still appears Capon/sandbox. We can't see answers to these questions in the FAQs - we had got the hang of the formatting but something has gone awry. Pease could you advise what we should be doing before we re-format (& potentially lose) the article again? - The article title has by now been resolved; it has been moved to Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Robin Capon, the preferred location for drafts. Once it's accepted it will be moved to "Robin Capon". Unfortunately it cannot be accepted until it shows that Capon has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, such as newspaper articles about him (not just by him).
- I cannot why your formatting changes weren't saved. Obviously you could successfully edit this help desk, so it's not a general problem. Maybe you just previewed the page without saving it? Rarely Wikipedia's servers experience technical problems that may prevent saving for a time, but in those cases you are usually advised of the problem by an explicit error message. OUR NAME GIVEN TO THE PEOPLE OF OUR REGION
From Sangilero to Sangilano and Sangilense. A letter to the Academy of Language clarifying the crafty intention. Casuistical gentile. Costume and phonetics in our name given to the people of our region.
In relation with the name given to the people of San Gil, I must add to these pages a note directed to Roberto Restrepo, a notable physician and writer, who had then prepared a book already published, entitled, Gentilicios Colombianos. He had given successive interviews to a newspaper (27) of Bogotá. In one of them, the name given to the people of San Gil was totally erroneous which prompted the following letter: “Mister Doctor Don Roberto Restrepo, Academy of Language, Bogotá, Distinguished doctor and friend: I want to avail of the circumstance which you have given to the public opinion through the columns of the prestigious newspaper, El Siglo, since the initiation of the interesting column of publication of the names given to the people of different regions of Colombia, to formulate an interesting and respectful remark about the name of the natives from the most illustrious city of San Gil. Your work has been great, Doctor Restrepo, because it is the first serious authoritative and complete topic of such transcendency in the Colombian lexicon. In the edition of Thursday the eleventh of this month, the names corresponding to the letter S, for San Gil, I found strange, Sangilero. I had faith that the denominative Sangilero was a ‘lapsus calami’ of typographical error. I perceive by intuition, because of the importance of the publication, that a careful correction of the sheet of copy was done. You have naturally paid attention to the cautious elaboration or indication of the numerous names published, all the proper factors, costumes, which are, without doubt, a sort of regulatory law, if you could say so, in a speculative subject as language; another important law is phonetics. In reference to the case of San Gil, custom and phonetics do not fit the name Sangilero. The denomination, Sangileño, has been given to the natives and adoptive of San Gil, among us, from remote times, by pure antonomasia. Would it sound wrong to say Sangilero, Sangiluno or Sangilano? No, if the Santandereanos and the natives of San Gil’s ears had not been accustomed to name the ones born in ‘The Pearl of Fonce’ Sangileños. In the list of names given to light, you have given them indistinctively the endings ero, ano, uno, es, ense etc. which indicate, clearly, that the factors of costume and phonetics prevail over any general rule. It just happened that in the town of Socorro, the name was Socorreño. As such, history relates the Socorreña Manuela Beltrán. But at the end of the century before the last, the people of Socorro chose to call themselves “Socorranos”(masculine) and “Socorranas”(feminine). Instead, peoples from Zapatoca just added a simple ‘s’ to their names, without being the rule. Neither is ‘Bumangués’ (from Bucaramanga). From these it can be deduced that there is no syntaxic or logic norm. You well know that the people is king giving its verdict to academicians. These names are very capricious; the people from Santander in Spain are Santanderinos, the ones from Santander in Colombia Santandereanos, the ones from the peninsular San Gil Sangileses, and the ones from here, not as you suggest, but as the ones who had the privilege to be born in San Gil. Sangileños called themselves, with great pride, the pleiades of sons of San Gil who you know, your servant and friend”. This letter was published (28), also, Doctor Restrepo’s letter which is long and I abstained to copy, but it states that if the error had not been observed by me, it would have slipped in the book prepared by the Academy. He also asked me for the names used by several towns of Santander, which were published in the same newspaper. Doctor Restrepo’s letter dated September 24, was published on October 7, 1952 in the above mentioned Bumangués newspaper.
