December 22[edit]

Hello,

I've resubmitted my article Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Sakyadhita International Association of Buddhist Women http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Lauriebak/sandbox#cite_note-3 about three weeks ago, but have heard nothing about it's acceptance. Is there any way to find out where it is on the continuum?

I realize the holidays may be slowing things down. Would love to get review and listing soon, as our International meeting runs from January 5-12 in India.

thanks so much, lauriebak76.195.160.36 (talk) 17:43, 22 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There's a massive backlog of more than 1,200 unreviewed submissions. The oldest are from November 30; yours is among the oldest 200 and will be reviewed soon. You can see the unreviewed submissions in Category:Pending AfC submissions; they're sorted by age.
However, I don't think your draft's references are sufficient. Of the three footnotes, the first is apparently self-published and not a reliable source, the second was written by a past president of Sakyadhita and isn't independent, and the third doesn't mention Sakyadhita at all (neither do the other two, in fact). Many of the references that aren't footnotes seem to be similarly problematic, and of course it's much more difficult to tell which of the draft's statements they are meant to support. In its current state the draft's content would be very hard or even impossible to verify. Huon (talk) 19:47, 22 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Question: question

Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Aaron-Johnson_(designer,musician)#On_the_last_Day I am wondering what needs to be revised in this article for it to be created. It meets the criteria posted on Wikipedia:MUSIC page. See items #1, 2, 4, 5, 11, and 12 yet it has been declined twice stating that these requirements and not met. Can someone please help me understand what I need to do to resolve this? Thanks!24.17.17.158 (talk) 18:07, 22 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

At a glance I'd say the draft needs reliable sources that allow readers to verify that those criteria are indeed met. Many of the current sources aren't reliable - that includes iTunes, last.fm, Pixel&Quill (Johnson's personal website) and Wikipedia itself. Billboard doesn't mention Johnson at all. You should also use inline citations and footnotes to clarify which of the references supports which of the draft's statements. I'd also like to point out this paragraph of WP:MUSIC:
Note that members of notable bands are redirected to the band's article, not given individual articles, unless they have demonstrated individual notability for activity independent of the band, such as solo releases.
I see no indication that Johnson has demonstrated that independent notability. Huon (talk) 19:47, 22 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, This is my second draft. I appear to have found a way to duplicate every paragraph and can't work out how to erase every duplicate paragraph, as one edit edits both the original and the duplicate, so i guess same may be the case when erasing.

Can you help please?

I'll do some cleanup. You should be able to edit the page in its entirety, not just a single section at a time, and then decide which of the redundant section to remove. Besides, edits such as this one clearly modified only one of the duplicate sections. Huon (talk) 19:47, 22 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
