April 14[edit]

I need help with the creation of the Infomusical box for the artist in this article. Is this something that I need to create (a table) or does it come up later when it placed in a special area. When I see the edits on other sites they are justs lists. When I tried to recreate it then I received what you see on this review. Also can you also look over the article and tell me what else needs fixing. All help is very appreciated.

Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Brielmayer (talkcontribs) 14:17, 14 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your article appears to have a working infobox without a picture at this time.  Make sure that your citations are reliable, not just a list of appearances.  If you have not already, you may want to read WP:NMUSIC to ensure that your person meets notability requirements. Does that answer your questions?    :- ) DCS 20:06, 14 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I recently created a new article/entry on Libertarian Paternalism. I have written a PhD thesis on related stuff and currently lead a research project on libertarian paternalism in particular financed by the EU commission. In brief, I am an expert on this. The review of my article said I should withdraw it and instead improve on the article on Soft Paternalism. However, though "soft paternalism" is sometimes used to refer to Libertarian Paternalism, this is very much a minority practice. Soft paternalism has two main uses, one of which has some overlap with Libertarian Paternalism. I have edited the entry on Paternalism to reflect this fact. Ideally, what should happen is for the article on Soft paternalism to be removed, as this concept is now treated in the entry on Paternalism. Also, the existing entry on Soft Paternalism as I said reflect a minority view. The definition cited at the beginning of the article refers to an article in The Economist, hardly a very authoritative source in this context.

I explained all this to my reviewer (User:Tom Morris) on his talk page but it seems he choose to simply delete my questions and suggestions. In any case they are no longer on his talk page and there is nothing on my talk page to explain what may have happened.

Please advice. I am rather new to editing Wikipedia but believe I could do some good if I just get over these stumbling blocks. Thank you. Filofil (talk) 14:31, 14 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Filofil,
There are no secrets on the Wiki and there is a record of everything.  I have reviewed the comments from User:Tom Morris and I have to agree with the him.  But I find even more of a problem, your example is almost a word for word duplicate of the example from Soft paternalism.

Consider the default contribution rates on defined contribution tax-deferred retirement savings plans in the United States. Until recently, the default contribution rate for most plans was zero, and despite the enormous tax advantages, many people took years to start contributing if they ever did. Behavioral economists attribute this to the "status quo bias", the common human resistance to changing one's behavior, combined with another common problem: the tendency to procrastinate. Research by behavioral economists demonstrated, moreover, that firms which raised the default rate instantly and dramatically raised the contribution rates of their employees.

As an example, take the default contribution rates on defined contribution tax-deferred retirement savings plans in the United States. I'm not suggesting that you copied from that article, each article cites a different reference.  But, if both articles cite exactly the same example, I can't see that there could be enough difference between the two that there needs to be a separate article.  I suggest talking with the people here, Portal:Libertarianism, before you resubmit your article.    :- ) DCS 05:09, 15 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

question regarding problems facing in writing the reference[edit]

Dear Sir/Madam As I have created an article, M. Irfan Maqsood, this article was created but that was enlisted as stubbed category and was notified to be removed due to less references. I want to say that every thing that was written there, is explained in the giving 21 references, which all are the reliable and authorize sources (news papers and TV channels and Institutional web page links. Some references need to be repeated like the Reference 1 for more than 3 times. the TV blog references have been deleted by myself. Now I need help to solve my questions.

  1. How to give the references of Degrees, like BSc, MSc, MA, the PhD studentship is refereed in the page.?
  2. How to repeat the references without interference in reference lists?

Thanks for your consideration. Best Regards Ldmaa — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ldmaa (talkcontribs) 18:55, 14 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ldmaa,
  1. Reference 17 completely covers Chand Bagh School, M.Sc., and M.A. Therefore sentences 2 and 3 are very well covered.  The items not covered are Ferdowsi University, University of the Punjab, University of Lahore, and PhD.  Possibly you can look for records from the schools, or find another article similar to your reference 17 that covers these items.  The {{refimprove}} tag was added by an unregistered user.  The only thing that could happen is that unverified information could be removed, which are the Universities and PhD.
  2. I do not understand this question completely, perhaps this is what you need: WP:NAMEDREFS. There is much information also at WP:CITE and the full page at the previous link, WP:FOOT.
If you have any other questions or problems, you can contact me on my Talk Page.    :- ) DCS 16:40, 15 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Dear User:Dcshank, In reference 5 of my article, M. Irfan Maqsood, I have mentioned the PhD Student Profile of the Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran. Is it not enough to cover the Last Sentence of Educational Career? Ldmaa, I will take your word for that because I can not read your language.  I think your article is fine, and you have removed the tags.  I noticed you were trying to combine citations, I did one for you(as an example), and I converted a link to a cite.  When you define the citation you enter <ref name=xyz>{{cite...here}}</rev>.  When you want to refer to it a again, you only need to enter <ref name=xyz/>  Thank you for your work.    :- ) DCS 23:17, 15 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
