I am a new user here and I didn't understand the rules and guidelines when I created my user page. I used my own material for creating a bio as the writer of another article. I was not attempting to use the site for promotional reasons, I was merely citing myself as the writer of the article. First even if you were the author of the copied text you would have to prove it, not just claim it here, because you are unverified and could be someone else impersonating that person. Second the purpose of the text was promotional. Wikipedia is not to be used for promotion. I am requesting that the Pancakes and Powerslams page is undeleted. The podcast is notable, and has been featured in many reputable journalism sites for many years. Also, as shown by the 145 guest interviewed, it has been a consistent podcast since 2012. A note was even documented from one of the admins that it was a notable podcast.

This image was correctly marked as "Orphaned Fair Use." I had concerns about the image at Commons and expressed them there, but felt no pressing need to revert the changes, in case the new Commons image was fixed and kept. Because the question is irrelevant (though I have a track record of finishing draft pages). This draftpage is meant to resolve the gap in the coverage in mainspace; so "free webhost" doesn't apply. To repeat, the draftspace is not "indefinite hosting of material found to be unsuitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia.". Also note WP:DEADLINE; a draft page need not be finished in 6 months. The English Wikipedia page Marietta Piekenbrock here is not deleted. The German version de:Marietta Piekenbrock was deleted as a suspected copyright infringement. Do you own the copyright on the material copied into the German Wikipedia? Can you tell us where it came from? The ticket number would be in response to an email sent to the OTRS team. Using OTRS from an official email can be used to prove a copyright release (under CC-BY-SA-3.0 for example). You can ask :de:Benutzer Diskussion:Doc Taxon about the German deletion. Joel B. Rudin

Article was flagged for speedy deletion as "unambiguous advertising." I've read the WP:NOTPROMOTION guidelines and I think this deletion was in error. First off, I am not in any way affiliated with this person. I want my contribution to Wikipedia to be in the field of civil rights law, and specifically notable people and events concerning wrongful convictions. I think we can all agree that wrongful convictions are a matter of public concern. Indeed, numerous famous lawyers in this space have Wiki pages (e.g. Barry Scheck, Ron Kuby, Peter Neufeld). Joel Rudin belongs in that group. Moreover, I do not know what RoySmith thought was not "neutral" about the article, but I assigned summer interns (college students) to collect publicly available information on Rudin and put together the article. None of them has ever met the man nor do they know who he is. So I have a hard time believing they were not "neutral" in what they wrote. I completely get the desire to exclude self-promotion on Wikipedia, and I have seen quite a bit of it that has slipped through the cracks, including with lawyers. But our Rudin article was not an instance of this. Please review our contribution under the WP:NOTPROMOTION guidelines and consider un-deleting it.   • Not done the reason for deletion (advertising) is not one which qualifies for restoration through this process. If you want to contest the deletion of the page you'll need to speak to the deleting admin (User:RoySmith) or use deletion review. Having read the draft it does sound rather promotional.   • Yeah, this is pretty obviously an attempt to use Wikipedia as a free advertising outlet. Based on the contribution history, my guess would be a sleeper WP:UPE account.   • Looking over the deleted draft, while it doesn't use unambiguously promotional language, overall it certainly paints a halo around the subject and completely fails to come across as neutral. However, it could be an acceptable article toned down.
