New page reviewer

User:PharyngealImplosive7

I was granted new page reviewer rights temporarily and I think that I'm ready to get them permanently since I've tagged and patroled over 50 pages now. I've also tagged many pages for deletion that were unfit for the wiki. Finally, I would like to participate in the May backlog drive. I thank the reviewing admin for their time and hope that I will be granted this perm. – PharyngealImplosive7 (talk) 16:45, 20 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I regularly create pages and want to save others time from reveiwing pages created by me, in addition to that I would be able to help with the backlog. Sheriff | ☎ 911 | 00:22, 22 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@SheriffIsInTown: To be clear, the NPR permission does not assist with review of your own pages. If you want to "save others time from reviewing pages created by me", then you would want to request autopatrolled at WP:PERM/AP. Hey man im josh (talk) 16:39, 23 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I will still want new page reviewers rights so I can possibly help with the backlog. Sheriff | ☎ 911 | 16:48, 23 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Hey man im josh It would be nice if I can get the rights before the May backlog drive starts so I can participate in it. Sheriff | ☎ 911 | 15:05, 26 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have extensive experience with new page creation and expanding stubs into appropriately sourced articles, and I also engage regularly (and constructively!) in AfD debates and PRODs with a good understanding of applicable policies. I'd like to apply this experience by helping out in May with the NPP backlog. Thanks for considering! Dclemens1971 (talk) 21:42, 26 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request to participate in the May backlog drive. I have been an editor since 2005. I have knowledge of policies and guidelines. I am a rollbacker and huggle patroller. I have a good record of constructive interaction and moving pages in accordance with guidelines. TRL (talk) 02:05, 27 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Miniapolis or @Spicy or @Clovermoss Hi - I'd like to ask for consideration of this request from last week. Thanks much! TRL (talk) 01:47, 1 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
 Done as a 1-month trial, since you've only become active recently. All the best,Miniapolis 16:02, 1 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

User:Tobyhoward

Hi, I would like to volunteer as a new page reviewer. I am a fairly experienced editor (since 2006: contribs >4,900, articles created >40). I am familiar with core WP principles and polices. I'd like to help with the backlog. Thanks for considering my request. Tobyhoward (talk) 08:06, 28 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Unfortunately, I'm not seeing any experience with deletion processes, which are an important part of NPP. I'd suggest getting some experience with WP:AfD and WP:CSD nominations and reapplying in the near future. For now, I'm going to mark this  Not done. Spicy (talk) 15:50, 30 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
OK, fair enough. Thank you. Tobyhoward (talk) 17:13, 30 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

User:BluePenguin18

I have been editing for over four years with ~1K live mainspace edits, including some engagement with the deletion processes and significant article creation including BLPs. With no behavioral blocks or 3RR violations and an understanding of the relevant guidelines (including RfC engagement), I am seeking new page reviewer permissions to join the May 2024 backlog drive. Thanks for reviewing this week's burst of requests ahead of the drive! BluePenguin18 🐧 ( 💬 ) 08:07, 29 April 2024 (UTC) BluePenguin18 🐧 ( 💬 ) 08:07, 29 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. Thank you for volunteering, but I'm going to have to deny this for now. If you're interested in re-applying at some point, which I do hope you do, then I encourage you to demonstrate some familiarity with the deletion process and notability guidelines by participating at WP:AFD or WP:AFC. User:Cwater1

I have been on Wikipedia for several years. I have crafted new articles. I do have good contributions. I have messed up before. I was wondering if anyone thinks I qualify. Cwater1 (talk) 17:42, 30 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. Thank you for volunteering, but in reviewing your editing history I wasn't able to find sufficient experience with the deletion process to feel comfortable granting you the permission at this point in time. I encourage you to spend some time at WP:AFD and make policy based votes to show that you're comfortable evaluating notability. Alternatively, you can still apply to help out at Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation. Hey man im josh (talk) 12:38, 1 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have been on Wikipedia for almost 12 months now and over the course of this last year-or-so, I believe I have managed to get a good grasp of Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Naturally, when I started out, I had a few issues that needed to be addressed (such as my eagerness to create an article that didn't meet Wikipedia's standards and hence was nominated for speedy deletion) but I believe that over the course of those months, I have managed to learn from my mistakes that happened early on and have since not only created a handful of my own articles and re-directs but have helped improve, in a significant way, a number of already existing ones to a point where article maintenance tags could be removed from them.

I noticed a huge backlog that is being built up and would love to make myself useful by spending some of my spare time in helping clear that up and become part of the NPP team. Matthew Wellington (talk) 23:56, 30 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Josh, I appreciate you taking the time to provide some feedback and next course of actions for me. I will follow your advice and may apply again in the future. Thank you! Matthew Wellington (talk) 12:50, 1 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

User:Florificapis

I got busy in real life for most of March and April, so my request was put on hold per [1]. Here is my original reason for requesting NPR permissions again.

I have over 120 new articles under my belt, mostly relating to medieval history, monasteries, saints, and geographical features. I am familiar with the kinds of content that would fall under CSD criteria, since I have experience wikifying new pages and tagging obviously problematic new pages for speedy deletion. I know the guidelines on notability, proper sourcing, draftifying new articles, rating talk pages using scripts, AfC, AfD, and other essential patrolling tasks. Would be quite happy to reduce the backlog while being cautious and careful. Also currently a Pending Changes Reviewer. Florificapis (talk) 00:09, 1 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I am requesting this permission to help out with the backlog, as the notice came on my watchlist.

  1. I am extended confirmed and have been here for 3+ years, so I meet the account age/edit count requirements.
  2. I have never had any blocks.
  3. I agree to reviewing on a volunteer basis.

I would like to be able to use this permission, even if temporary, to help with the drive, as said above. If you reply here, please ping me. thetechie@enwiki: ~/talk/ $ 03:14, 1 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to participate in the NPP backlog drive.

  • I have experience creating new pages as well as participating in AfD discussions.
  • Never had any blocks.
  • Agree to review on a trial basis. InDimensional (talk) 12:25, 1 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like to volunteer for the NPP drive this month. I was previously granted the right for a trial period in August (expired a month later, extension request declined), and for another trial in December (for the January drive; unfortunately I was inactive as I was busy IRL). I have a bit of content writing experience (Trams in Olsztyn ) and formerly worked in AfC reviewing. – dudhhr talkcontribssheher 17:19, 1 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Reason for requesting new page reviewer rights

I often go through pages and pages making edits and typo fixes, grammar cleanup, and updating the articles overall appearance and optimizing different aspects of the article to follow community and portal requirements. I have made a few new article pages however a lot of the time I need some free time to complete some of them. I find it encouraging to see new articles and contributions to wikipedia and the sister projects associated in the different wiki sites and would like to involve myself more in the wiki-community!  Not done. Please see the notice at the top of this page. With only 194 mainspace edits, you don't meet the minimum requirements for granting. Please come back when you have the experience required for administrators to review your edits. – robertsky (talk) 22:16, 1 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I've been on a two month trial as a new page reviewer and was told to reapply about a week before my trial ends. I hope my contributions have been positive and that I can continue helping out. Thanks! GWA88 (talk) 22:51, 1 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not quite comfortable granting you the permission permanently yet but I'm willing to extend your trial for another two months. When I accepted your last request, I asked that you spend some time familiarizing yourself with AfD/PROD/CSD to show experience with the deletion process, which you have not done. I'd like to again ask that you do so and re-apply with roughly a week left on your trial @GWA88:.  Done for 2 months, thanks for volunteering. Hey man im josh (talk) 13:18, 2 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Josh. I'll try and be more active with regards to the deletion process. GWA88 (talk) 23:21, 2 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

User:Anwegmann

Hello. I was granted new page reviewer privileges several months ago with instructions to base my voting and reviews more on policy than opinion in order to earn full-time privileges. I have made great efforts to do just that, taking part in quite a few AfDs and becoming familiar with the policies surrounding AfDs, both concerning voting in them and creating them myself. I have actively engaged by fellow editors, using policy and precedent both to vote, recommend new pages for deletion when necessary, and argue for my positions in particularly active AfDs. I am here requesting full-time new page reviewer privileges, as I feel as though I have fulfilled both the requirements of the position and the suggestions given me over the last few months. Thank you for your consideration. Anwegmann (talk) 00:19, 2 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Anwegmann:, you've done great in becoming more active at AfD, which I very much appreciate. However, you didn't seem to review very many pages. I'm happy to extend the trial for though, since there's obviously good faith and effort present here. If you're not aware already, we do actually have a backlog drive that started yesterday which I'd encourage you to participate in. Head on over to WP:NPPSORT and give it a go!  Done for a 2-month trial extension. Please re-apply roughly a week before the permission is set to expire. I heard that a backlog drive is happening! I'd like to try my hand if that's possible. I am a rollbacker, pending changes reviewer, and I think I have a good grasp on the core requirements for a Wikipedia page, in part due to more recent participation at AFD. I would like to help out with the backlog. I’m very familiar with the content policies, having created 71 active articles (most being non-stubs) as of making this request. I’ve additionally had some experience in participating in discussions, handling deletion templates, and moving new articles with significant issues to the draft space. I'd like to join the backlog drive. I'm an AfC reviewer and a while back TechnoSquirrel suggested I try NPP. I'm finally tempted enough to try! ~ L 🌸 (talk) 02:49, 3 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
